No one will buy a 256Gb folding phone. So starting price around $2600 for those actually interested. And hopefully still $139 a year for AppleCare, but we shall see.

Another thing to add to the list of "something I'll be interested in seeing in real life, but I'll never buy unless I win the lottery".

Which isn't a snarky comment. It's just I don't really get the "FOMO" thing, or rather, I don't need to buy something in order not to feel I'm "missing out". Having the knowledge and a bit of hands-on experience scratches that itch.

People who watched Top Gear didn't rush out in drove and buy the latest featured supercar. They enjoyed finding out about the latest supercars.

For me, the more interesting thing about Apple ( or any company) releasing ridiculously expensive "highest end" products is that the innovations and the R&D that turn out to be useful get passed down to the mid- and entry-level products in a relatively short amount of time.

Patience is not a bad thing.

i don't think just converting the price is a good idea. just don't think it's realistic to the real price.

i think they should have it 512GB, 1TB and 2TB but 2TB would likely cost too much

For that price I buy a MacBook pro
For that price I'll buy a Xbox Series X...weird comparison right?

This is the start of Apple not forcing you to buy multiple devices. I don't want an iPad thank you. I want this. A single device that does both. I'm sure they'll hamstring this somehow to make the iPad still relevant.

Like the MacBook Neo drumming up a frenzy...my phone is more powerful than that...let me plug my phone into a monitor and it loads macOS...I'll die on this hill. Let Apple hoodwink you into thinking you need a device you don't.

you can buy it with a 5-year credit and maybe at the end of repaying it, you will get AI with ios 32.7 b2 🤣

The MacBook Neo basically a cheap iPhone Fold XXL. You can close the lid and with the phone app you can call the world.

I think this will be interesting.

Im not criticising the phone's existence as it is inevitable... and the pricing is also in line with Apple expectations.

However, as they have demonstrated with the Vision Pro there are price points for devices that are beyond what most people are able and willing to pay.

For an iPhone to now be well beyond the 1,200... and even north of 2,000 I think that for many its not going to be affordable or justifiable at that level.

Im not saying it can or should be cheaper at the moment, but at those pricing levels its going to be a niche device.

Would I be interested in one? Perhaps but im rather enjoying the slim and light iPhone air - the fold will be very bulky in comparison - but certainly not at those price points.

There comes a time when you feel uncomfortable carrying around a 2,000+ device in your pocket - but perhaps thats just me.
