Up to 3499$ is fine for me and it's an instant buy if they make it small (5.5" closed) and more in a shape of Huawei Pura X instead of Galaxy Z Fold 7.

At those prices this will go the way of the Vision Pro & iPhone Air….. the masses just do not have that kind of money to spend on a phone. This is of course all guess work by the “analysts” because you can’t determine prices from supply chain leaks…… But in the event that this holds true then $2300 for 256gb is comically insane!

It’s not meant for the masses though, when the Pro Max sells as good as it does it is clear there is room for a more expensive option.

There are plenty of people with decent jobs that will have no problem buying these for various reasons.

Think the starting price could be $1999. But with the current RAM/SSD prices going up, think a price of $2499 could also be possible. At that price, definitely not going to get one. Might be better to have the Pro Max along with iPad Pro.

but I think iOS is more refined and coherently functional
I understand this is an Apple centric website but you lost me here. Every day I find flaws in iOS and quite the opposite from Androids oneUI. Do say it's more refined and coherently functional is simply disingenuous fanboy talk.

A phone that is >$2000 = LOL

I'm not poor, but I'm also not an idiot. I'm sure plenty of people will buy it, but Apple has lost me on this one.

I think that they have the pricing almost right... but the storage tiers and pricing are wrong in this report..... If anything 512 will be the 2320 price.. 1 tb will be 2610 and 2tb will be the 2900...

if they have a 256 model, it will be at 1,999...

Now the real question is when will the "display constraints" reports start coming out.. Letting everybody know that getting this phone will be extremely hard lol....
Which I think is a real possibility.. It will be hard to get until after Christmas...

Maybe yes, maybe not... time will tell if it will be a success or failure.

Those prices are astronomical compared to what you get.
The prices are high. But not astronomical.

I like iPad minis. I’ve got a four year-old iPhone and a mini 6.

I’d like to upgrade both. 🤔 This is probably too high, but it’s not a no yet. It’s a wait and see.

I don't get the use case of this phone.
Crazy expensive. Less features (cameras) than the Pro Max

If you want screen real estate, get an iPad mini. iPhone 16 Pro Max + entry iPad is cheaper than this

The storage capacity options for Apple's upcoming book-style foldable iPhone have allegedly leaked, along with their approximate pricing.

Apple-Foldable-Thumb.jpg

According to the Weibo-based leaker Instant Digital, Apple will offer iPhone Fold storage capacities in the following three tiers:
  • 256GB – ~$2,320
  • 512GB – ~$2,610
  • 1TB – ~$2,900
For context, Apple presently offers the iPhone 17 Pro in the same three storage options – 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB – with the iPhone 17 Pro Max offered in a fourth 2TB storage option costing $1,999. Note that the corresponding storage prices shown above are approximate USD conversions from Chinese yuan at the current exchange rate, and shouldn't be taken as reflective of the final price in the U.S. As such, consider them ballpark figures.

The starting price of the foldable iPhone could be nearly twice as much as the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and Apple could put it somewhere between $1,800 and $2,500, which is double what the iPhone 17 Pro costs. The latest rumors suggest it will be on the higher side of that estimate, and these approximate storage tier prices appear to bear that out.

Instant Digital has a good track record for Apple rumors and has provided some strikingly accurate information ahead of time, such as the imminent launch of 2023's Yellow iPhone 14, the frosted back glass of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.

Notably, for the iPhone 17 Pro, the leaker accurately reported the device's 256GB base storage configuration and its improved telephoto camera, as well as its improved battery life, thermal design, and display brightness, so it's worth taking these purported storage capacities seriously.

Apple is expected to launch its first foldable iPhone this September.

I would wait until the product announcement time to find the real prices that Apple believes the best to charge. I would not worry or concern the pricing stage this early. Patience is golden!

Good luck at that price point. Samsungs Z fold 7 is around 60% of that and still an expensive niche product. Or one could get a Z fold 6 for less than half the price.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply. Normally I wouldn't respond to someone who resorts to name-calling ("disingenuous fanboy"), but I'll give an exception. I'm not sure that you really read what I wrote though. Additionally, your reply is suggesting that my personal experiences are invalid and that my opinions are simply the result of being a "disingenuous fanboy". I'll positive things about iOS and Apple products when I like them. I guess that makes me a "disingenuous fanboy" in your eyes.

My first smartphones were running Android. I later switched to iPhones because I wanted to try them. I ended up liking iOS and iPhones more. Now, I still have and use an Android phone -- not from work or anything; I have one just so I can keep up on the Android world and Android phones. Is that what Apple "disingenuous fanboys" do? How many Apple "fanboys" do you know that spend their money on a phone running Android so they can use it when wanted and use it to compare to iPhones? I prefer the design, functionality, and ecosystem of Apple products. I’m not sure how my using both Android and iOS but my preference for iOS makes me a "disingenuous fanboy".

Also, I use macOS, Linux, and Windows daily. If that context doesn’t change your mind about me being an Apple “disingenuous fanboy” then I’m not sure of anything will convince you otherwise. Yes, I like Apple products but I use the tools I need to do my work and will give up Apple products the second they no longer allow me to do my work efficiently and cost-effectively.

I kindly suggest spending less time judging others and spend some time outside.
