I've started noticing this visual glitch with my screen where it's showing marks when unlocking my new Iphone SE, or using the home button in general.
It only appears very briefly, but it's beginning to really bug me. I was able to screenshot it.
    I have force-restarted my phone.
    Any reasons or solutions please??

I'm probably over looking the obvious but exactly what is the glitch I'm looking at?

I'm confused, do you not see the dark marks on the screen? Sorry if it seemed like it was part of the background

    Sorry. I see now.

That's software level anomaly, not a hardware defect. A screen shot can't capture what isn't being presented to the display aka hardware defects.

    Have you tried other backgrounds?

The screenshot did capture it because it was being presented to the display. And yes I have tried other backgrounds, on another background the areas that are showing as grey marks appeared as white marks instead.

What I mean is its not a hardware fault since you can screen shot it.

Have you tried resetting the iPhone by holding the power/lock + home button until you see the Apple logo?

Yes that was the first thing I did. Could it have been damaged from rain water? That's probably a stupid question but I did have it out in the rain a lot at a festival earlier this week.

It is a SOFTWARE issue, not a hardware issue. Nothing is physically wrong with the phone if it is a software issue that can be seen in a screenshot.

You're clearly not understanding how screenshots work. Screenshots only take a photo of the screen itself. That is, what is being displayed on the screen, not the physical hardware display.

Look, I understand that screenshots only capture the screen/software. I wouldn't take a 'screenshot' of an issue like my phone constantly buzzing. I'm not dim.
What I asked was if the rain could have affected it. It's a perfectly reasonable question.

Rain would not cause damage to the software. It would damage the hardware.

You need to restore your phone as new and see if that fixes the problem.
