I may have to switch to an Android if Apple doesn’t get its **** together and update its Bluetooth software for hearing aid support. Android companies do it. Apple still doesn’t have LE Audio and Auracast support despite their hardware being able to support it (and we are already on 6.0) Android does. Apple has fallen behind.

Hmmm, reading this article again I realized it can be a bit misleading. More Android uses were inclined to switch phone makers, but most of those switching would be to another Android phone. So from a phone OS perspective, iOS and Android users both have similar very high loyalty.
Misleading headlines?!

I have the Samsung S25 Ultra and I've given some thought this week of going back to Iphone. I probably won't anytime soon, but one thing I did like with Apple is they have a release schedule for everyone and once you got the release, it didn't already feel like yesterday's news. Also, I still use the phone mainly as an Ipod listening to Podcasts and Apple Music and getting back into the Apple Ecosystem does have its advantages. Like I said, I've been thinking about it, but I'm in no rush to make a switch.

By the way the whole messages blue vs green bubble thing just sounds really elitist to me, like the cool kids vs the nerds back in middle and elementary school. I've never understand why people have those attitudes. Personally I wish the bubbles were customizable colors. Give me orange or white (With dark text) or really night blue.

laziness is one of many components of loyalty, though even most lazy people will change if the motivation is high enough. Regardless, one still must ask why iPhone users are more 'lazy' than Android users.
Or difficulty. I heard it was quite difficult to change between the two from LTT show. But I would be interested if they changes post iOS 26 since it will be far easier to switch between the two given the new switch to Android/Apple feature.

Android phones may be cheaper than iPhones, but they don’t get updates as often or for nearly as long. I don’t switch phones all that often so iPhone’s long term support is important.
there's more than one manufacturer that makes Android smartphones. its not just Google and Samsung. another good manufacturer is one plus, they regularly push out updates, major OS updates and security updates.

This “article” is very misleading. It uses brands and platforms as if they’re synonymous. If you look at the number of Android users looking to switch platforms (ie., to iPhone), it’s closer to the percentage of iPhone users looking to switch to Android. This study shows that users are pretty entrenched in their platforms. And unlike Mac/Windows, Apple doesn’t have a cost disadvantage, making it easier for Android users to make the switch.

When I buy a new phone, I would like to see the possibility of choosing to buy an iPhone 17 on iOS 18 or iOS26 - in case the user interface has been completely changed. Or allow the new device to roll back.

Talking and bragging after the release of a new device with iOS 26 what a good percentage of new iOS we have - it's just a lie and manipulation of the script.

iOS 26 is the worst sofware release by a miles … Eat **** from day one of using iPhone 17

I have an iPhone since the first one. Last year It came to my mind to switch to Pixel and Graphene.
Just because of privacy, become less dependent of Big Tech with that Orange guy. Even a lot of goverments in Europe are switching from American company's to opensource of EU products.

I already have ADP activated and I like the eco system. It just works perfect with my Apple Watch and Airpods Pro. Sharing albums with my wife. I also have a Pixel 7 Pro just to test Graphene. I like the freedom but I can play (read: fck up) more. And I just want a device that works. So I do what I can like DNS blocking, Ad block, VPN etc.

EU: “It’s anticompetitive that only Apple can sell the Apple iPhone. So, as a part of the gatekeeper regulations under the DMA, they will be forced to allow other companies to sell iPhones. It’s the only way companies that don’t make the iPhone can compete.”

the above comment is a text book example of gaslighting

Indeed. A few other people pointed this out - but to make this clear:

Of the 13.6%, 26.8% switch to iPhone.
26.8% of 13.6 is ... 3.6% (rounded)!

That's actually striking! The number of platform switchers is essentially balanced (within 1 percentage point).

"SellCell's survey was limited to 5,000 U.S. respondents." (in the final paragraph, should have been in the Headline!)

Remember the World is bigger, much much bigger, than the US. For example, there are more iPhone users in China than in the US. Their switching habits might be different, same for other parts of the world.

It would be interesting to see the results of a similar study in the UK after Apple introduced age verification in 26.4 without even mentioning it in the release notes. (Numerous media sources agree they were not required by UK law to do this.)

Got my first ever Mac at 41. Never going back. I run Android too as I have two phones, I love the Galaxy series but I'll always have iphone and mac

Sometimes the switch is simply practical. My elderly mother-in-law switched from iPhone to Pixel so my wife could support her phone issues (my wife is a devoted Pixel fan) as my MIL no longer remembers anything she's told regarding using her devices and needs constant reminders/fixes.

I've been on OnePlus since iOS 7 came out and infuriated me. There's been ups and downs, but the OnePlus 13 is one of the all-time-greats. Shame they had to backpedal on the 15. And now there's strong rumors they will be pulling back to solely the Chinese market.
