Very sad, I will hold on to my 13 mini as long as possible, hoping Apple will change their minds in the future.
And by buying 13 mini today, what will you get? A soon obsolete Lightening connector, an outgoing notch and a small iPhone that overheats just about every time you use it to make a FaceTime call or navigate with Maps? The question from a current 12 mini user is then: what’s the actual pull?![]()
The mini cult has it so bad that they think Apple will redesign iPhone mini to bring it back as an SE.Except that so far SE has not had any small design changes, remember? Well, actually, I think that the original 5S based SE did not have polished sides, but that is about it. The whole economic point of an SE line is to manufacture them as cheaply as possible, which means ideally keeping assembly lines unchanged. So when we hear people talk about “putting just one camera in”, “bigger battery”, etc., it all sounds like a new different iPhone model to me. USB-C might be an exception from this rule, yet again, Apple will still want to continue selling minis and the market signs for it are not very encouraging at the moment.
Why? I don't know anyone who says their problem with phones is the weight. So make a “mini” phone with a smaller screen but thicker so it’s heavy like a larger one? Yeah I’m not sure that would work with most people who want a smaller phone.
12 mini got cut when the 6.1” iPhone 12 reached its third year (when 14 launched last year).Maybe the current stock is disappearing because they are refreshing it with USB-C tomorrow 🤔
Video playback is just one aspect and it's not exactly representative of everyday activities. Video playback running time benefits from the smaller screen, most other activities don't.Let it be known..
iPhone 13 mini has the same battery life as the iPhone 11 which sold super well.

If you met me you would then know someone dislikes both the weight and size of current phones. Why? I don't know anyone who says their problem with phones is the weight.
Well, I'll consider you known for now anywayIf you met me you would then know someone dislikes both the weight and size of current phones.
Fans of smaller phones rejoiced when Apple introduced the iPhone 12 mini in 2020, followed by the iPhone 13 mini a year later. However, after nearly three years of availability, the end of the road might be near for the 5.4-inch device.

As noted by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, iPhone 13 mini stock is running low, with Apple's online store in the U.S. quoting a 2-3 week shipping estimate for some models, and even 6-8 weeks for a few others. The shortage suggests that the iPhone 13 mini might be discontinued after Apple announces new iPhones at its "Wonderlust" event on Tuesday.
Apple did not release an iPhone 14 mini last year, but it kept the iPhone 13 mini available as a lower-cost option, with pricing starting at $599 in the U.S. If you are interested in buying the iPhone 13 mini, now might be your last chance, as it is looking likely that Apple will discontinue the device on Tuesday after unveiling the iPhone 15 series. Apple's new lineup will likely consist of the 6.1-inch iPhone 15, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max, 4.7-inch iPhone SE, and the 6.1-inch iPhone 13.
While there initially appeared to be pent-up demand for a smaller iPhone, actual data suggested that the iPhone mini had low sales relative to other iPhone models. In April 2022, research firm CIRP estimated that the iPhone 13 mini accounted for just 3% of overall iPhone 13 sales in the U.S. in the first quarter of that year.
Going forward, customers who want a small iPhone from Apple will have to settle for the entry-level iPhone SE, but even that device is rumored to be updated with a larger 6.1-inch display in the next year or two. At least for the time being, it appears that Apple has realized that smaller phones just aren't that popular after all.

You tell me. You're the current mini user, not me lol.And by buying 13 mini today, what will you get? A soon obsolete Lightening connector, an outgoing notch and a small iPhone that overheats just about every time you use it to make a FaceTime call or navigate with Maps? The question from a current 12 mini user is then: what’s the actual pull? 🤷🏻♂️
I'm an iPhone 13 mini fan and this is disappointing.
The Mac Mini, iPad Mini, 11" MBA and iPhone Mini all got constant hate from some people on this forum. No doubt they are the same with cars and will only except the Ford F-150 as a suitable vehicle. Maybe compensating for something.I think you are mistaken, it is not a level of hate from certain people, but rather a lack of love from a majority. I bought my 12 mini shortly after it was released and still enjoy every day with it. I also asked Apple to keep small iPhones going via their Product Feedback tool, so I definitely played my part in keeping mini going.
However, at some point after about 3 years of a good service it will need to retire in the next few months. If it means I will have to “grow up” to a regular 15, so be it, I will adapt.
It’s known that the upcoming iPhone 15 pro is slightly smaller (one or two millimeters) than the regular iPhone 13/14, maybe you could give it a try? Because next year the iPhones are getting bigger.I have iPhone 12 mini and I love it. Why can't a phone just not be just a phone? I don't care about gaming or one higher megapixel camera. I just want a small reliable device.
This is a dangerous course for apple to take, competitive devices have become more attractive as of lately. Both on the laptop side and phone side. Within the next 2 years I have to renew both my MacBook and iPhone, and I'm getting less sure its going to be apple with every news article.
