WHAT??!!Does not work in EU !!!!!
Ah, whatever is not available in Europe, probably is because privacy concerns so… enjoy!
This is bad wording on my part. Your iPhone doesn't need to be like on your person, but it does need to be nearby. Like in the same room. I'm going to update that.
No only portrait orientation. Also fixed positions on the desktop. Also requires WiFi to be active before connecting. Can the phone be turned to landscape? I have some iPhone only apps that only work on landscape?
For newbies — there’s no information in this long article describing what iPhone mirroring actually is.
Single window.Does anyone know if this is limited to a single window on the Mac or can you have multiple Mac window instances of your phone open? In other words, is there a New Window option in the Mac menu bar for the iPhone Mirroring app?
iPadOS wouldn't work because of the current forced positioning of graphical resolution representation of the iPhone mirroring on MacOS. iPadOS doesn't use positioning app windows by default. Stage Manager on IpadOS isn't ideal for this as you know.iPadOS needs this feature more than MacOS
darn, that could have opened up some crazy possibilities!
I wonder if it relies on BT, and if not, could the traffic be tunneled?
I don't plan on ever owning a smartphone of any kind.
Leaving the house is my only disconnect from technology.
That said, using my iPad on Apple TV makes more sense.
(I do want to see the rest of your tabby Juli.)
Gents, get your minds out of the gutter.
It allows you without having to worry about the screen locking to always see your iPhone desktop for many common usages. Such as a Messages showing FOB pin to log into a secure site. You could hear all your voice mail on the Mac without picking up the iPhone. Seeing your email on the iPhone desktop and not have the much larger MacOS mail app for specific text content. It's like a super widget in some ways. Play Music on iPhone which plays on Mac for sound output.I get how this could be interesting for developers (I think).
But for the average user, what function does this serve? It's a genuine question, I'm not tryin to attack anyone who finds it useful.
I just can't think of a use case - primarily because my phone is never particularly far away and I'd find it easier to just use it directly.
I would use it if the screen was broken and would need to recover something. But for the average user, what function does this serve

whomp whompYou need to have both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on, so there definitely seems to be Bluetooth involvement. It works fine if my iPhone is in the same room, but if I go a couple rooms away, I get some serious lag. Bluetooth is likely the limiting factor there.
Why? 🤔iPadOS needs this feature more than MacOS
