Will be updating as more found, but so far:

- NEW menu! Swipe left on multitasking menu to access ipod controls (including back/pause|play/forward and link straight to iPod)
- NEW in menu, swipe left on multitasking page to access rotation lock button (FINALLY!)
- FIX Camera works again!
- New texture for app switcher and folders background (kind of grey cloth) (background in safari on iPad) (if you have every opened an attachment in mail, the scrolled to far to the top or bottom, there is a similar texture)
- Ability to end multiple apps from multitask area without holding each one individually
- FIX You can now update apps through the app store over wifi

KEEP DROPPING ME HINTS

It's the "checkerboard" texture from Safari on the iPad.

How long has File Sharing been enabled in iTunes for the Mail app? I just noticed it.

Actually I don't mean the checkerboard pattern, I mean the background in iPad Safari. Seen when you hit the bottom or top of the page.

- Camera / camera roll / screenshots working again.

- Swipe left in the multitask dock area to get iPod controls.

- Orientation lock feature via multitask dock area (swipe left).

This is getting better and better. Fantastic new additions that solve the double press problem for iPod controls and also adds rotation lock.

I know it's such a small feature. But the fact that it finally has an orientation lock, makes this update even better.

How's stability? Closer to Beta 1 or is it on par with 3.1.3.

I found beta 1 quite stable, albeit a few bugs, however, I found beta 2 terribly unstable and slow. So far, having used it for about 30 mins, it seems back on par with beta 1. But 3.1.3 is the golden standard remember

I used Beta 1 and found it stable as well though a few quirks that made it frustrating at times. Opted out of Beta 2 due to extreme bugs. Just wondering if B3 feels more like a final than a beta.

Beta 3 is no longer showing up for me in the dev center. Anyone else?

Apple pulled it.

Anyone know how many more betas until final build at WWDC? What was it last year with iPhone OS 3.0?

Last year the beta period started earlier. The answer's six though.

That's not good.

Don't worry, apple has posted a note on the dev forums saying that there is a problem with the custom installs of the SDK, beta software is fine!

I think screenshots would help clear the canvas confusion up. Also is it me or is the multitasking dock starting to look like an apple version of sbsettings?
(before you reply to this message please note I am not a dev)

Then why did they pull that as well? When I login to the developer site, all I see is IPhone OS Beta 2, released April 20. No Beta 3. :(

Oooohh... Tantalizing.

I really hope they add more toggles to that menu. Maybe a swipe right will get us wifi/location/3G/Bluetooth.

A guy can dream.

Because the older version of the SDK will not work with Beta 3

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.4 Mobile/7D11 Safari/531.21.10)

Swiping right is your app launcher

Really? Because I thought double clicking brought up the app launcher and swiping left took you to the iPod controls and orientation lock.

I'm not using the beta so I could be wrong.
