3.1.3 is the same as 3.1.2 so why waste an exploit?

well for all the users stuck in 3.1.3. without a way out and the users stuck using tethered jailbreaks.

This is the exact reason why they a. should have had their SHSHs on file w/ Cydia, and b. should NOT have updated to 3.1.3 when being told plenty of times not to. If they didn't do enough research to show they shouldn't update, they don't deserve to be jailbroken.

Not everyone had a choice, some people got a new iphone or others werent interested in jailbreaking until after they already had 3.1.3

Well they can wait. If you updated to 3.1.3 it is soley their fault. And if you bought the iphone from ATT you can wait!!. If you bought it to unlock yourself thru jailbreaking, then you can use an old phone for a couple of months. I hate people who whine. Patience is key!!!!

My friend got a 3GS with 3.1.3, after hours and hours of messing with it I got it down to 3 and then back up to 3.1.2... annoying..

some people had their iphones malfunction and ended up stuck with a 3.1.3 replacement. And to what end should exploits be held? I mean after 4.0 is released, one could say "you know, 4.1 isn't too far off, we should hold onto the exploit until then."

C'mon man, not even comparable.

My old 3GS had its SHSH saved but it broke and i was given a refurb. It came with 3.1.3. So ill hae to wait for 4.0 to jailbreak :(

So I'm a bit of a noob in Jalilbreaking / Unlocking but i have this questions...
1. Can anyone download the beta 4.0?
2. Is it stable/safe to use?
3. Can i Jailbreak it so idk what gets registered and then downgrade to 3.1.2? like if 4.0 was a prior version (sorry for my bad explanation)
4. Unlockable?

Scary!

Hmm. Trying not to jump to conclusions, but wondering if this release means they really are waiting for 4.0 until anything for the unwashed masses is usable (i.e., those of us stuck on 3.1.3/3GS are still out of luck).

I am not complaining, just pondering the implications, if any, of this release only supporting 3G (not 3GS) and 4.0 beta.

I get that it's a release only for devs.

Insert more disclaimers here. :)

The reason it's been released for 3G only is because there is an exploit that has existed since the OS 2.x days and Apple can't patch it on the hardware we have.
