Are you getting an Apple Watch?

I'll get one, if not solely to become part of my first generation collection. What kind will depend a lot on price points.

Nope. Had a smart watch when I was on android. The novelty ran out fast for me as it does nothing for me. I have no issues bringing out my iPhone.

I wont be buying a smart watch until these 3 things are met:

Price no more than $150
Can be used with any smartphone platform
Battery should last at least a week without charging

I would also be interested in more smart watches like the Samsung s which don't require a smartphone but are cheaper maybe around $250 and last at least a week without charging.

No

1) It's the first generation of it's line = it will get left behind fast.

2) If battery life is "about a day" now it will be "about half a day" in a year or so and then "until lunch." I don't want a watch to die on me.

3) Many Apple products are fragile and that stainless steel version looks like it will scratch like the old iPod Touch.

No it doesn't. Statistics reach a point of diminishing returns very quickly if the sampling is truly random. 4k is more than enough. Adding more shouldn't change the result.

Right, but also don't forget that pricing hasn't even been announced yet. Millions of people probably want a gold watch, but won't get one when they find out it's a coupe thousand dollars.

i totally would get one for the gimmick. just to have the latest gadget because i am a big fan. but i think i would get tired of taking it off very day and charging it

i would buy the cheapest one with the larger screen . or maybe the next step
up if it was more durable.

its bad enough our iPhones go off with notifications. , like text messages, Facebook, twitter, today's word in words with friends. that one beep you get when you get a new email, but you don't know iif its an email or if its something else!!!

but with all those notifications, I'm not so hot about friends "tapping my wrist" to get my attention. thats too weird for me. i think i would want to turn that off

i haven't owned a watch for like 20 years i don't know why i would suddenly rush out and want to buy a watch

i like that Iron Man GPS + watch that is coming out soon. you don't need a phone and it has its own cellular connection and you get 1 free year of AT&T
thats more tempting then the apple watch

Not planning on it. It's square, not waterproof, and not an independent device. And I don't really want another thing to charge every night.

While that's true, this poll is on a tech-enthusiast Mac forum, the average of the users here are not the average user of iPhones.

Yup.

I'm a gadget whore. I admit it.

Not sure which yet. Smallest screen for sure. Dainty girl wrists.

Lets see what kind of functional practicality it has in everyday life and then we can make a real decision

yes, asap. sport, 38mm, black. it will replace my nike fuelband. also will improve my life with the 6+ - no need to check for notifications any more!

I don't need the Apple watch. I have a nice Sub on my wrist and it tells the time and is beautiful to look at. I haven't paid the best part of £1000 for an iPhone to then not get it out of my pocket when it goes off.

Depends on how much it costs because although I liked it when it was revealed at the keynote it is a luxury item. I'm not going to pay anymore than £500 for it.

i wish apple would release actual speculations on this water resistant vs water proof thing

Ugg you've just reminded me of how much the phone costs lol

This is the first time that I would find it a waste of money. I just can not see a use for it, especially at the price Apple is going to be asking for it.

I know depressing really lol. Then again it's spread over 2 years on a contract so easier to live with and well worth it IMO :)

Yeah. I think the fact that it's on contract allows you to block out how much it really costs lol I had to pay off my existing contract but was able to cover the cost from the sale of my S5. Definitely worth it though.

I don't like having stuff on my wrist. I don't wear watches and I'm not buying Apple Watch.

Don't think so... I might change my mind when it gets out, but for now it's a no no
