Do you need a lot of space on your iPhone? Do you have games for leisure activity on your phone? 64 or 256 or 512.

What I want to do and what I ha e time for are pretty different so do you keep it more simple with age and just get the minimum? Or do you still desire the extra?

I will be 50 in September, my wife will be 55 in December.

I have always purchased the maximum capacity offered for every iPhone model I've bought. Because I want to.

Need never factors into want except as a byproduct. Meaning, if it happens to meet my need, great. If not, it's irrelevant to my purchase.

I have only ever filled a portion of my device. I don't use it for games and any music I have, I stream.

I'm over 40 and I want to get the max but I don't want to waste money. I'm older so I want to do things but realistically those days are over.

It's all different for different people no matter the age. Some people use a good amount of storage on apps related to work or some other more "serious" things, some more for games, some more for media (music, video, etc.), some for photos and videos they take, etc., etc., etc. It really mostly depends on personal use, which can differ a great deal from person to person in general.

I am 74 and just upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an SE. I wanted the 128 gig but settled for the 64. I only use the phone for text messages, web browsing (when on wifi) , email and the occasional phone call. I do not have many games or music and could not watch a video on it, I would use my iPad for that. I have a GPS in my car so do not use the phone for navigation. My plan is unlimited text and calling , no data, for 0$ a month. 64 gB is more than enough for me.

I feel that I want the space but watching movies on a small screen is bad for the eyes and storage is gonna for music but streaking is popular and how many games do you plan to play? It gets tricky but if I spend the money I know it's a four year phone easily without having to sell with high resale value so a good amount of that will be returned back.

I have not streaked in years and fortunately in those days cell phones were not a thing :)

I want as much space as possible. If you really want to use the capabilities of this phone to the limit, then the more memory the better. Many people do not. For me, I like taking photographs and using 4k video which eats memory, but the quality is excellent.

I use the phone mostly the way I want. I wish I could be bothered to use its potential even more, but I guess that's the age thing kicking in. Enjoy it, it's a great phone.

Now that I have unlimited data, I have no need to store lots of music. So 64 is fine for me. I'd prefer 128gb if it were the base option (sounds like that might happen) just for peace of mind but I'm saying that while still having 35gb free.

I’m 42 and I bought the 256 model, so mid range. I have all of my music on my phone, and a bunch of family vids and photos of my boys growing up. I also have some iTunes movies on, and room for some stuff if I want to download from a streaming service. I am not always around a signal, so I don’t mind a bunch of stuff on my phone. I can cast to my Apple TV when we are in the country. My last two phones were 32gb so it’s nice to be a hoarder.

Yeah I'm going got the 256 max. I do t k ow anything about the 12 coming out but this is good enough to last for four years.

I thought this thread was going to be about Display Zoom and presbyopia. As a user much older than age 40, I’m finding that I have to use my glasses with my X more often than not. I tried a XS Max for a week and benefited from that setting. Planning on keeping my X another year, but also planning on getting ”Max” size iPhone next time, unless they drop that feature. Anyhow, I think, for me, the money spent on more storage is better spent on the larger screen if it can be zoomed.

I don’t have any games.

I always bought the maximum capacity so that I could fit as much music as possible.

Once options surpassed 160 GB I haven’t had use for more, so I am currently on 256 GB with about 70 GB free.

I do not sync photos because there is no iCloud plan available large enough to handle my photo library. Instead I just sync selectively from Lightroom.

I'm really old so I don't have the strength to download apps or take many pictures. Also my phone gets too heavy when I fill it up and it hurts my back so I keep it as empty as possible. Easier to carry. Also games no longer interest me because I can't figure any of them out.
I also delete all my emails because those get heavy too. Getting old sucks

I’m turning 40 next month but I have the 256gb variant and I only use 30-40gb. I have a good amount of games but I paired down what I kept on my phone but I’m also a minimalist so didn’t have a lot on there to begin with lol.

No. What do you consider alot?

Do you have games for leisure activity on your phone? 64 or 256 or 512.
No. I do not game on my iPhone. I play games on a MBPr15, ZenBook Pro Duo, Switch and very soon Xbox Series X.

I make the time to do what I want. Life is too short to not enjoy all the little things.

If you'r getting a new phone just look at how much memory you used in the last year or more and if you're approaching 3/4 full then get the next size up.

getting the 11 max off swappa, coming in a few days... 256 gig

I'm not 40 but I am 36 so I might be in that demographic. I download a lot of my music (Apple Music) so that's where the space on my phone is going. I only have a few games, and a lot of my streaming is mainly through the Apple TV and Ipad. I don't need all the space on the Iphone, but it is nice to have.
