i use one for airplay controller to atv2 and receiver in my home theater, also tune in radio app and pandora, where it sits most of the time in a bose dock, also use it as an alarm clock as well..

I use a first gen 8GB iPod touch for audiobooks and Audible's audio files from Charlie Rose. The device is parked in one of those nice older paperback-book sized Altec Lansing speakerdocks on a bureau about ten inches from my bed. I just start a 30 minute timer and hit play and probably only hear ten minutes of whatever it is before I'm unconscious, but there's always the rewind option next night!

I have a 3rd gen 64GB iPod touch that is my main movie watching machine. I love movies viewed on this size device. I am on the go when using my iPhone so rarely watch movies on it although I keep a few there for the odd waiting room situation. But that iPod touch, I love the thing for toting around so many favorite movies in such a tiny box.

I still have my first gen touch.

I just mess around with it (installing various tweaks from Cydia) or I use it for music when I'm driving.

i only use my iphone as a phone. i have maybe a few newer songs in but thats it. my ipod touch i use as my main ipod. i have a 64gb and i have 8000 songs so thats what i use that for. i don't get how people use their iphone as an ipod and a phone because to me it would be annoying to go through albums and kill battery while you surf the web but to each their own

The iPod Touch nowadays is basically a toy for kids who don't need an iPhone yet. That's the main demographic (pre-teenagers) who I see have them.

I sold my 1st generation iPhone and purchased an IPod touch 4th generation because I wanted everything else; except the phone.

Just discovered this thread and thought I'd add to it: battery life.

I use my iPhone for business every day. I get so many phone calls, texts, emails, etc., I have a 16GB iPhone and own a ton of movies/TV shows through iTunes. I have a 64GB iPod Touch that allows me to watch those movies/shows when I'm on a plane, train, or just on the run...without affecting my iPhone battery life.

My two cents!

I use my touch for music, web browsing, messages (iMessage), checking/sending email, occasionally watching YouTube videos/videos. Shopping online, online banking, planing journeys. Occasional pics.

I use my samsung galaxy note for making phone calls, messaging and taking pics.

I have the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.

The iPod, if you want, can turn into a phone in a way...using an app. It's pretty cool, only the ones with the microphones.

I have a 16 Gig touch and a 16 Gig iPhone 4S. I got the touch before the phone and kept in in my car for strictly music as my car didn't have bluetooth (2003 Accord). I now have a 2013 CRV and still use the touch for the car as it is connected to the USB. I could also use the phone for music too via bluetooth (or USB), but if I had gotten a larger capacity phone for my music, it could certainly replace my iPod in the car. Maybe my next phone I will do that, but at the time, the iPod was perfect for listening to music in the car. And that was all I used it for.

I use my 32 GB 5th Gen for Music, Gaming, backup apps, etc. I don't do too much with the 4th Gen. :/ but considering it has a crack along the side, I don't see the point in selling it for $20 bucks.

64gb touch mostly music on it (about 30gb worth), but also OS (Ordinance Survey) maps on.

With my phone I have deleted most game apps so I can have the maps on also whilst I'm walking on my own, but once my charity walk is over, I'll probably drop them from my phone and just keep them on the touch. Certainly no room for music and signal is too poor to stream from spotify whilst out...

Touch has plenty of games on to keep my daughter happy if we're waiting anywhere for a significant amount of time. Son got my old touch as a birthday present and he plays mostly racing games on it.

I envisage this touch going to the daughter for her birthday in a couple of years then it'll be a long hard thought as to whether to spring that extra cash for a 64gb phone...

My 8yr old son loves playing on his latest gen 32gb iPod Touch when we're on vacation, driving around, in restaurants etc. One of our other iPods is used as a music device in our car.

Next month im getting an iphone 5, i will probably sell off my ipod touch because they do basically the same things just the iphone calls people

I use my iPod touch to:

1. Control my lights (Hue)
2. Control my TV, Receiver, Apple TV, Blu Ray and Cable box (Unity Remote)
3. Control my thermostat (Nest)
4. Use it as a remote control for my TVs(Comcast) and iTunes library (Remote)

It sits on a dock in the living room so it's always charged and within easy reach. I can use my iPhone or iPad for these things, but I like having one dedicated device for all of it, that does not leave the house, as some of the programs I use require it not to be disconnected without going through a reconnect. I subscribe to iTunes Match so I don't need a specific device just for tunes, with the exception of my motorcycle as it's integrated into my helmet and bike.

Do you have a YouTube channel for all your video reviews?

My old iPod Touch is sitting in the drawer. It has some videos on it that aren't on my iPhone, as my iPod Touch is 32GB but my iPhone is only 16GB. Haven't used it for ages though.
