Many of the above phones lived a second life as hand-me-downs to family members. Recently bought the iPhone Air but it was too big so I'm back to the SE 2022 while awaiting my iPhone 17 order.

Left to right.

iPhone 3GS: Christmas 2011 to September 2012. Used as a backup to my then primary HTC Touch Pro so I could learn iOS.

iPhone 5: First, full purchase, pre-ordered and delivered on launch day iPhone. September 2011 to February 2015.

iPhone 6+: Last Sprint iPhone before switching to T-Mobile. February 2015 to late September 2015.

iPhone 6s+: Late September 2015 to May 2020.

iPhone 11 Pro Max (current iPhone): February 2021 to now.

Between the 6s+ and the 11 Pro Max was a Pixel 3a XL. But you only mentioned a history of iPhones.

Are moving from se fully to regular 17?

Trying to get se 2022 but don’t know where. Want to ditch 15 pro into the drawer, because i still can’t sleep missing apple pay touch id - face id wallet creates a lot of friction in my daily life.

I would compensate for se with ipad mini 7 for home use.
 
Lots of flip and bar phones before iPhone. My top favs were the stainless steel Nokia bar phone and the Motorola Razor flip phone. I also really like the Sony Clie PDA with the integrated 1.3Mpx camera.

I should add that most of these were my favorite at the time I had them:
-3GS - first iPhone (and first real smartphone)
-4S - much better screen and great design
-5c - more storage, LTE support and being green (you can see that theme in my phone color choices for sure)
-6s - felt like a huge upgrade with Touch ID, better cameras and a bigger screen
-8 - was the first one that didn't feel like much of an upgrade (should've held out for X I guess)
-11 - again felt like a huge upgrade in terms of screen size, camera and battery life
-12 - I appreciated the more compact design and 5G (which actually made a noticeable difference for me)
-13 - I only upgraded to the 13 because they released a (dark) green one and I loved it because of that.
-15 - improved battery life, but otherwise didn't feel like that big of an upgrade
-17 - I've only had it for a few days so I'm still getting used to it, but so far I will say that I like the better screen and of course I like that it is green 💚.

I previously only had black phones because I didn't like the white bezels. Now they're minimal and black, I don't mind which colour I have really. It lives in a case and is rarely seen naked.

2009: iPhone 3GS 16GB black
2012: iPhone 5 16GB black
2018: iPhone SE 128GB spacegray
2019: iPhone 7 128GB spacegray
2021: iPhone 13 mini 256GB red

Loved the 3GS, probably because it was my first iPhone. Didn’t like the 5 as much. It had quality issues, hat to service it twice under warranty.
Although the 7 was beautiful I didn‘t like it for some reason so I switched between it and the SE from time to time. Sold it eventually.
Love my 13 mini and will use it for another couple of years :)
