2016: iPhone 5s, a gift. Soon enough my youngest daughter took over it.
2018: iPhone SE 1st gen (current backup)
2022: iPhone 13 mini (current daily driver)

I started with a couple of iPod touch generations, but then switched from a feature phone to Android (I was kind of late to the smartphone game). First Xperia T, then Xperia Z2.

Then I got a great deal for an iPhone 5 around the time the 6S released. 100,-€ brand new - that wouldn't be my primary phone but my "gateway drug" sort of. So when the first (2016) iPhone SE released, I picked that up as my primary (and only) phone:
  1. iPhone SE (2016) 64 GB
  2. iPhone 8 256 GB
  3. iPhone 11 Pro 256 GB
  4. iPhone 13 Pro 512 GB
  5. iPhone 16 Pro 1 TB
  6. iPhone 17 Pro 1 TB
And let's hope the foldable iPhone will be good :).
 
CIRCA 2006: Random tracPhone device, I think it was a Nokia
CIRCA 2007-8: Motorola Razer
2009ish: HTC Hero from Sprint
Late 2009\2010: BlackBerry Curve - (Terrible software experience, it was like Windows 98 in my pocket. BUT my god the keyboard was amazing. I used to text out whole paragraphs with perfect grammar under the desk while making eye contact with my teachers lmao)
Late 2010\2011: HTC Evo 4G
2012: HTC Evo 3D
Late 2013: Galaxy S4 until it broke twice
2014: HTC One M8 - I still have this, it still works. It's unfortunately locked to Sprint or I'd still probably use it lmao
2016: HTC 10
2019: iPhone 7 (also got a first gen SE a little after as a backup and work phone - still have that as well)
2020: Second gen SE (still have this, use as an iOS beta dummy)
2022: iPhone 13 Mini (current)
2025: iPhone 15 - this is a work issued phone, the 13 Mini is mine but technically I have the 15. I like the Mini better. This thing is too big.

I give the previous phone to a family member each year and they give theirs to another family member so we can get at least 3 years out of each before trading the oldest in.

My History with the iPhone

1. iPhone 3G my introduction to the iphone, Steve Jobs & the sheer excitement of owning my first Apple product.

2. iPhone 4 a more premium feel with apple ousting the plastic casing for glass and aluminium.

3. iPhone 5 a new design and bigger screen with a two tone finish much like the iphone 17 pro max in ways.

4. iPhone 6 i mainly was swayed with the new design.

5. iPhone X - the most epic update since the 3G with an all screen display without the home button it was hard to resist the update.

6. iPhone 12 pro max the larger screen and cameras swayed me over.

7. iPhone 17 pro max same reasons as the 12 pro max, in addition to the refreshed design.

Not in the exact order of ownership since I have bought more than 1 of iPhone 4 to iPhone 5s

For the form factor, I would say my favorites are iPhone 5c, iPhone SE 2016, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
 
iPod touch ;-) I was so poor at that time and couldn't afford an iPhone. For me the original iPod touch was a revelation.

I assume the 17 Pro Max will be my new favorite, but it won’t be here for another week or so. The iPhone 6 Plus was definitely the worst one I’ve owned, I had 3 warranty replacements in the year I owned it.
