True that - and realistic functionality - great potential ad for iPhone 2 - IN FOUR DAYS!!!!

Apparently, they've already arrived in containers and are ready to go!

YESS!!!! 4 more days!! haha but like still.... Lets hope all that what everyone says and predicts on these forum in all true or will happen!

How else do we communicate? By signing and watch others sign...I'm superEXCITED about this video conferencing feature and I just know millions of deaf people will buy this iPhone!

I second that! My girlfriend is hearing impaired so it's next to impossible for us to have phone conversation. If she's able to read my lips while I'm talking, it will help us out a great deal when we one of us travels runs errands.

Rotating Camera

Did a search on "optical sensor": Rotating Camera?

[0112]The device 100 may also include one or more optical sensors 164. FIGS. 1A and 1B show an optical sensor coupled to an optical sensor controller 158 in I/O subsystem 106. The optical sensor 164 may include charge-coupled device (CCD) or complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) phototransistors. The optical sensor 164 receives light from the environment, projected through one or more lens, and converts the light to data representing an image. In conjunction with an imaging module 143 (also called a camera module), the optical sensor 164 may capture still images or video. In some embodiments, an optical sensor is located on the back of the device 100, opposite the touch screen display 112 on the front of the device, so that the touch screen display may be used as a viewfinder for either still and/or video image acquisition. In some embodiments, an optical sensor is located on the front of the device so that the user's image may be obtained for videoconferencing while the user views the other video conference participants on the touch screen display. In some embodiments, the position of the optical sensor 164 can be changed by the user (e.g., by rotating the lens and the sensor in the device housing) so that a single optical sensor 164 may be used along with the touch screen display for both video conferencing and still and/or video image acquisition.

Multi Party Video-Conferencing

[0145]In conjunction with RF circuitry 108, audio circuitry 110, speaker 111, microphone 113, touch screen 112, display controller 156, optical sensor 164, optical sensor controller 158, contact module 130, graphics module 132, text input module 134, contact list 137, and telephone module 138, the videoconferencing module 139 may be used to initiate, conduct, and terminate a video conference between a user and one or more other participants. Embodiments of user interfaces and associated processes using videoconferencing module 139 are described further below.

I think you meant to say that you couldn't care less.

I didn't want to post the chart again because I didn't want to derail this thread too and start this whole discussion again, but it appears you are confused.

wow. ok, you win. that's so irrelevant to point that out. you started it off by being off topic. if you're so smart to break down my english then you should be smart enough to understand what i meant...excuse me.

Why does everyone use this poor excuse to use improper english? If we continue down that path, we'll end up back where we started—cavemen grunting and pointing.

Videoconferencing...sounds nice!!!

Videoconferencing is the main concern for me. Must everyone else I know have an iphone too:)apple:2)? Sounds nice but I'd like to see what happens. Come on June 9th!!!:apple:

All this talk about the iphone is great. The new features should be rather amazing, but no one seems to be talking about AT&T. Suppose we get all this cool stuff and suddenly the "data" is no longer unlimited? Then all this will be pointless cause 50% of us wont get involved in a higher plan. Here's to no changes in plans from AT&T with this new phone!! That would really suck.

Because Apple wouldn't let AT&T just spring upon us a non-unlimited plan after the unlimited plan for the original AND the fact that we are now going to a faster 3G connection

Now, maybe in the future it may occur but right now it won't happen

Unlimited plan is here to stay for the forseeable future, in my opinion

well, i'm not a perfectionist. i don't like to talk like i'm writing an essay for college all the time. sorry pal.

It has nothing to do with talking like you're writing an essay for college. It's the simple use of the phrase.

"I could care less" vs "I couldn't care less"

They have entirely different meanings. It's not like I was ripping you for leaving out punctuation or making a typo.

Regardless, I just found it funny that we just had a 3 page conversation about that very phrase in the other thread. As soon as that one wrapped up, you chimed in here with your "I could care less" comment. Thought the timing was pretty funny, so I linked to it.

Enough ranting, let's get back to the original topic...

I don't see it ever happening. The iPhone uses waaaay too much data for them to set a limit and that total is only going to go up with a faster connection.

If we saw a serious effect on network performance because of overuse, they might consider it, but I think AT&T is planning accordingly.

Have we forgotten?

All this talk about 3G, Video Conferencing, iChat, etc... (don't get me wrong, nice additions) but have we forgotten the basic features we miss so much!? MMS, Cut/Paste, Voice Activated Dialing. etc.? I'm sure we'll have some options in the App store...but these should be standard. Sorry to revisit...it's just that I received a MMS from a VZW friend and I hate viewmymessage.com...especially w/o cut and paste.

i knowww! u are absolutely right. mms is a major pain in the neck. lol and viewmymessage.com sucks so much. I am a programmer and i cant imagine why that viewmymessage takes such time to load.. and fails most of time. really really bad designing i bet. i would be atleast semi ok if i got sms with direct link to the message and viewmymessage infrastructure was faster. i dont think next version of iphone is gonna solve it.. and neither voice activated dialing.
copy paste i have a feeling they are gonna release it with iphone2... just my thought.

I really hope the iPhone doesn't have one of those rotating camera set ups. They just look really flimsy and clunky. Which wouldn't do at all, it being an Apple product

The device supports a variety of applications, such as one or more of the following: a telephone application, a video conferencing application, an e-mail application, an instant messaging application, a blogging application, a photo management application, a digital camera application, a digital video camera application, a web browsing application, a digital music player application, and/or a digital video player application.

This is great stuff -- I cannot wait until Monday!

The US Patent and Trademark Office has recently published an extensive patent application, seemingly for the 3G iPhone and software version 2.0, both now expected to be released next Monday.

Also detailed in the application is support for inline media, including Flash and Windows Media.

Among the 25 inventors listed is Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

Raw Data: Patent Application 20080122796

From patent: [0781]inline multimedia content 4002, such as QuickTime content (4002-1), Windows Media content (4002-2), or Flash content (4002-3); [0782]other types of content 4004 in the structured document

Doesn't explicitly say it will support Windows Media, which is good because that will slow the adaption of quicktime server for streaming.

For example at work they have 2 windows media servers for video on demand, they want to get into podcasting as well as streaming, one of the pros of going with quicktime server is that you can stream to the iphone. If the iphone does wmv then there goes the quicktime server.

I have an inside source at apple: ALL of these patents will be with the new 3G iphone, announced on Monday. PM me if you want more info

well, i'm not a perfectionist. i don't like to talk like i'm writing an essay for college all the time. sorry pal.

It's not being a perfectionist, it's being intelligent and thinking before typing or speaking.

Let's get back on track here. Monday cannot come soon enough. Anyone have a time machine that wasn't installed with 10.5?

time machine?
not on me no,
but im sure i could whip one up
just give us a sec...

for some reason when i wound the hands forward on my clock it didnt work...
