Are we back in a scenario where the AT&T and T-Mobile models don't work on Verizon or Sprint, but the latter two work on the former two (apart from LTE Band 30)? Why can't Apple just release a single phone that works on all?

I'm not sure why they chose to segment the market arbitrarily, but the CDMA model should work on all carriers. The towers should recognize that the device doesn't support band 30, and should assign those devices a different band, just like they would if it were an older model of iPhone.

Even better, because the towers can dynamically balance band usage, the new devices should tend to end up on band 30, freeing up spectrum in the lower bands for devices that don't support it. So unless you just happen to be in a cellular dead zone where you can't see any towers on any other bands for some reason, not having band 30 on your phone shouldn't have much impact, just as long as there's a high enough percentage of devices that do have band 30 support.

I on the contrary do the opposite, I never buy V1 of things... especially iPhones which ALL v1 have some type of issue that is corrected on the S versions. I could understand if you are doing 2 year contract and your upgrade time is with the v1 of iPhones though.

I can certainly see the appeal. Although using my 6 Plus is pretty much flawless now, for the first couple of months it was riddled with crashes and half the apps not being optimized for the Retina HD Display.

Someone going straight into 6S Plus will have snappier experience, and all the apps will be optimized out of the gate.

With the iPhone 5 and 5S, it was opposite. The 5 still runs great, and has held up through iOS updates fairly well. The 5S had a lot of issues at first from being the first 64 bit phone.

With that said, its good to see Apple having better yields this time around. The 2 month waits were complete non-sense and embarrassing last year for the 6 Plus.

Ignore the hater. He likely lives in the hills of Tennessee where they're fighting gay marriage even though it has no bearing on their lives. Heck, next thing you know he's going to say those blacks should be drinking out of their own fountains and the women should be home cooking and not voting. Some pockets in this country are still living in the past.
Dude it's your right to get that color option! Enjoy it! Don't listen to other people !

You can't activate a non Sprint/Verizon phone on their network so there's no point in adding those bands.

No, I live in one of the most liberal states in the country. And, you're taking it to an extreme bringing up civil rights; it is offensive. That's an unfair comparison. And, if I've offended you with my previous statement then I apologize.

California and New York are the most liberal states in America, yet also have some of the most uneducated, conservative, backwards people in small pockets within the states.

Anyone who says that pink should be restricted to women is setting themselves back 50 years. To say someone shouldn't have a certain color of phone because you feel that color should be reserved for women is ludicrous. My comparison was a bit rough, but it's the same mentality, you just don't see it as such because you accept gender stereotypes.

So if the women are the only ones allowed to have a "pink" (Rose Gold) phone, what phone is exclusive to men? Can women not drive blue cars because the gender stereotype says blue is for boys and pink is for girls? Where do you draw the line in the sand. Surely you must be against gay marriage too then... since you seem awfully worried about what everyone else should and shouldn't do, even though it affects you in absolutely no way. Maybe it's like those staunch anti-gay marriage people who think by trying to fight the movement, it'll make their homosexual tendencies go away? Sorry, if you want the pink one, embrace it, and accept that some (read: MANY) men are ordering the Rose Gold because they LIKE it and WANT it.

Hope you can sleep tonight knowing that men are buying pink iPhones. LOL

When my pre-order went through this morning at 4:00 AM I received a confirmation page on the Apple Store, & my order is showing up in my order history, but I have yet to receive an email confirmation from Apple

6SP 64 space gray w AT&T saying 10/16-10/23. All 6S's I ordered were still saying 9/24.

yeah i got my email stating that my order was placed at 2:10 AM CST for my 128GIG 6SPlus Space Grey and the delivery dtae was pushed back to 10/16-10-23..

i ordered my silver 6S 128Gig for my wife after i ordered my 6S+ and hers still says delivery 9/25

i am hoping my 6S+ gets to me on 9/25..i mean 10 minutes after it opened...not sure why the date is that far back in october

I think that your comparison was extreme, but I'll agree to disagree with you. I hope that you all enjoy your new iPhones.

Lol @ the "Rose gold is for gurrrlss!" people. Where are we, in elementary school? Still assigning genders to colors? It's visible light reflecting off the surface of the phone, nothing more. Sheesh.

Either there are plenty of stocks or people don't want to upgrade anymore. 12M camera? Apple have been said megapixels wasn't important. 70% fast? iPhone 6 is still fast enough as a phone. 3D touch? Does it really work for you?

The 6s appears great. It really what the 6 should have been when it came out. I don't think we will know how important 3d touch is for a while, but I can see it becoming a major interface tool across all product lines (just like multitouch is).

Personally I think the 6s has way too much benzel at the top and it's really time for wireless charging. If it had wireless charging(true wireless - minimum 3 feet) we would all be talking about a revolution.

Oh lol, the "hey look at my BRAND NEW iPhone!"-guys strike again. gold is soooo 2013/2014, rose gold is 2015 baby!

Would have been one of them though (;)) if the rose gold would be more like copper :( Was disappointed it's so pink/salmon.. :(

Yeah but before you show you have to take it off from your case to prove you have the latest iPhone in rose gold. Or else everything looks the same other than the space gray. LOL!

I think the low sales count has to do with the following:
1. Lack of interest for this years model
2. Not much of an upgrade
3. No 2-year option on Apple site

For me it was 3 & 2. Even now, almost 3 hours later I can still get a Space Grey 64 and have it by 25 September.

What low sales count?

First of all, I'm not a dude, but I think the pink phone should really be for women only. Come on! It's pink for crying out loud.
Ok you are very narrow minded. So should the space grey phone only be for men only? You must be 10 years old or something !

You can't activate a non Sprint/Verizon phone on their network so there's no point in adding those bands.

With previous phones, as I understand it, the Sprint policy was that they would let you activate phones purchased directly from Apple, but not phones purchased from other carriers. So that's not always true, just usually true.

Then again, with the cell companies rapidly moving away from subsidized phones, many of the reasons for those limits are likely to become less relevant over time.

They've been making these phones for a year now, so they're probably better at getting them out quickly. Plus, the demand won't touch last year because the 6 was the first big iPhone. We all have huge iPhones now, so less people are jumping to order. I'll still get one, but I'm waiting until I can walk in and grab one. I've been spending too much lately anyway. New car, new insurance, new car mods, VW hoodies to go with my car, etc. lol.

looks like sales aren't as quick as the 6

I doubt we ever see that demand again. Everyone had been wanting huge iPhones forever and they finally got them. Now, we all have them, so less people are willing to jump each year.

Where is that discount being offered?
Not quite sure what you mean by "where"? It's TMO's jump on demand option. You effective receive $200 off MSRP. You do need to run s credit check and join JoD but you can just pay it off AFAIK. Total for a 16gb 6s comes to $560 IIRC

To be clear, you're assuming a slow sales count. Could just be an increased supply. We'll know for sure when they announce the sales numbers.

Sales will take a hit this year as the 6 & 6+ are still amazing phones. However production yields have increased especially now they know the Plus is desirable. Last year it was a punt as there was a lot of sceptics but this time around even those that were like no way it is too big are saying well after 12 months the 6 feels fibe so I may give the Plus a shot.

Anyone who says the 6 and 6+ are still amazing phones is a little bit delusional with the 6s and 6s+ available. Almost everything is signficantly improved. I'm sure salespersons at the Apple store won't have to work too hard to upsell someone who thinks the 6 is pretty much the "same" iPhone as the 6s.
