See I've upgraded every year as I usually sick of the same phone after 12 months, I usually colour hop so it's not identical but really the features alone have always made the S models more enjoyable refinements.
That's fine. Look man I like you like to hop to different color iPhones. People in this thread are all attacking me. I'm not trolling I know it looks that way but I'm giving you guys my personal opinion. Congrats on our 6s! Or success! Lol! But this year as an apple fanboy like yourself just rather get an iPad pro this year and wait till apple's next iPhone. Fair enough?

I think it'll be easy to find one come launch day or soon after. I'll wait and use apple pay with discover promo and save over 20%. It's kind of dumb to preorder right now.

I on the contrary do the opposite, I never buy V1 of things... especially iPhones which ALL v1 have some type of issue that is corrected on the S versions. I could understand if you are doing 2 year contract and your upgrade time is with the v1 of iPhones though.
The truth is all if my none "s" phones I didn't really encountered any problems. However I have crazy OCD when it comes to taking care of my phones. Lol! Bend gate? Nope! Scuffgate on black iPhone 5? Maybe a tiny smidgen. Attenagate on iPhone 4. Nope. But to be clear I'm happy for the 6s release. I would like to have it but as I wrote in almost all of the posts today, I rather get the iPad pro this year and wait on the 7.

Preordered at 11:00 a.m. EST and still got 9/25 delivery date for a 6S 64gb Space Grey.
There is no way to tell if supplies are larger or interest is lower.

Back to topic of discussion. I never pre-ordered before, I usually wait a few months but having the 5s, i had the itch to get the latest 6s Plus.

I ordered through AT&T when the pre-orders opened to the masses and I was given an estimated delivery window of Oct 16 - Oct 23.

With AT&T's track record during previous years do they typically over shoot the delivery times meaning over estimate the time you will get the phone and actually receive it earlier?

Thanks for your feedback!

Cheers!!

Lol! Same here believe it or not this phone is either not really in high demand compared to the 6 and 6 plus or they made a lot more phones this time because I woke up at 3:49 this morning and still saw some rose gold 6 pluses available. I have the 6 plus and didn't see the need to blow more money for a phone that pratically looks the same. Im actually looking forward to the iPad Pro!
Well they have made more phones than last year it seems

I think the interest in the 6S and 6S+ is down. There are still plenty of entry and middle ranged memory options. Verizon and Apple have it. T-Mobile is like out of stock on the 6S+.

The demand doesn't compare to the 6 last year. In my opinion it's the same phone. I know it's vastly improved but just not enough for me to be up all night to preorder. Heck it even has the same screen resolution as last year and gasp! A 16 gig entry model!

The phone went on sale at 8.01 here in the UK: I phoned Three at 11.15 to upgrade and have to wait until October before mine arrives... Thought this was a big wait considering this was <4 hours into Day 1. I was hoping I'd get it on release day!

Still, I can't wait for a phone with a CPU that's >4x faster than my current phone and with a GPU that's >5x faster. (Along with all the "old" features like Touch ID which will be brand new to me.)

I would have to say it's because companies now have you pay your phone outright in monthly payments. If the person doesn't like the newer iPhone they can just skip it and finish paying the old one to keep or if already finished then won't spend the extra device monthly fee for something they think is a minor upgrade. The old school contract folks like me are the ones that will most of the time upgrade at the 2 year mark no matter if the device is incredible or just an Ok update like this one since we already are paying a "hidden" device fee no matter if you finish your contract.
I must be missing the subtleties. It’s a distinction without a difference?

16GB is too little if you ever wanted to use camera.

So really 64GB is the real entry phone, but priced too high... And with USD being so mighty now, it makes little financial sense for people abroad.

Last year it crossed $1097 Canadian mark, this year it's even higher at $1310.

Many include of myself who already bought 6/6S will wait for 7, or 7S... Better be better value Apple! Or waiting until 8 or going to a competitor's product is not out of question.

(This is coming from someone who upgraded every single iteration of iPhones and iPads until recently.)

Direct from Apple on the UK store only the Rose Gold one has any wait beyond launch day.

It's time for the S model nomenclature to go away. Apple should make upgrades that are good, not just incremental. With constant improvements, Apple can make even more profits.

Mine moved up from 10/22 to 10/2 last year with the 6 Plus 128GB SG which was the most popular I think. I think it depends on the carrier. I had to wait but a friend got his 128GB Gold after walking in to a Sprint store on launch day. And when ordering from AT&T, the phone comes from China to AT&T's distribution center to be boxed and labeled then to the customer. Ordering directly from Apple, it leaves China and comes right to your door.

I didn't order this year. Man I miss the fun of this.

It's a bunch of things with the white.
  1. It's distracting to me when doing something on screen (but looks good in pictures).
  2. There is a black boarder around the screen from inactive screen space, so it's screen-black-white.
  3. When the device is off, you get a gaping black rectangle in the middle of a white screen, whereas on the black models you get a smooth black surface.
  4. On white fronts, you can more readily see all of the sensors at the top of the phone.

What's funny is I used to always get black/space gray iPhones until the 6+ I decided to go with white/silver. I don't think I will ever go back to the black front for one simple reason, fingerprints. My black iPhones always had fingerprints all over and I was constantly wiping the front of the phone. With the white front it always looks nice and clean.

Apple could come out with a baby **** brown color and it would fly off the shelves simply because it was the latest and greatest.

Do you think, there will be the same as last year's daily online reservation for iPhone 6s , if available in the UK stores?

thanks for the comment! It really is a crapshoot it seems.

I ordered mine through att at 1:10 MST last night and the confirmation page said 9/25 estimate... got a second email from att this morning saying there was a problem processing my card? Called att and spoke with a TL or manager and they said they have had problems like this all morning and once the order goes through the phone will be delivered 10/16???(there was nothing wrong with the card on my end) of course I made a fuss and she said " all the orders will arrive on that date there are no orders arriving on 9/25 that's when the phone comes out...: uhh she clearly didn't know
