Well, I'm sure it will be another massive flop. After all, we've already had someone say they've "never been less interested". (I'll wait for the 7 but I find the changes in the 6s some of the best ever for an "s" cycle. I just love my current 6.)
However, I'm most interested in whatever "xxxx-gate" the S model will produce. I'm betting on "marshmallow-gate". Someone will subject the 6s to molten marshmallow which damage the phone or disable 3D touch or something. Of course, this will be done in totally dark room with light leaking from the iPhone's bezel further adding to the scorn of critics. Samsung will then come out with a S'more's video mocking the iPhone.
Yeah, I hear each year about how the new iPhone is the worst ever, Apple's lost its magic, how people will just wait on the next one, xxxx-gate has lost consumer confidence and doomed iPhone sales forever, etc. and then there is the follow-up sales numbers that show record sales. Go figure. Of course, there are probably people still posting here that they aren't going to purchase an iPhone until the battery is user-replaceable and they can use memory cards with it.

I think the low sales count has to do with the following:
1. Lack of interest for this years model
2. Not much of an upgrade
3. No 2-year option on Apple site

For me it was 3 & 2. Even now, almost 3 hours later I can still get a Space Grey 64 and have it by 25 September.
I disagree - I think that, with Tim Cook at the helm and learning from past problems & mistakes, Apple has significantly improved its supply chain logistics. I suspect that there are a lot more phones this time around. Of course, Apple always likes to see stories about how some of the phones are sold out within minutes as that makes great press. Ultimately, however, they want to satisfy their consumer base and they have been making pledges to fix their supply shortages at launch. We'll know for sure at the end of the quarter when Apple does its shareholder reporting and analyst gives us a good look at sales numbers. At this point it is pure speculation. Unlike you, I was happy with the upgraded features (camera, Live Photos, 3D Touch) and wanted to upgrade to the 128 GB model, so the timing was good. I was able to get my model in space gray five hours after pre-launch started with no issue.

I believe he has that right.
Of course he has the right to passionately post how disinterested he is. As often and as eagerly as he wants. Every right in the world to shout his ennui from the rooftops: "I'm disinterested as hell and I'm not going to take it any more!!!"

This iPhone 6s is their most powerful yet! I lost track how many times this was said during the keynote, but this is true of every new iPhone release. lol.

Anyway, this edition of the iPhone, revolutionary! Can't wait to get those deep presses and that immediate haptic feedback happening.

There hasn't been much said about the increase in weight of the 6s, maybe its in another thread I'm yet to get to. I was just going to say strength must come at a cost. I really hope we don't give that iPhone bender another couple of million dollars by pumping up the hits on his youtube channel this year. lolz.

I have a business acct with VZW. Called a rep thru their 800-sales number at 3:00A (biz accts can't preorder thru carrier or Apple websites). No problems. Immediately was connected. His "system" was running "fine." Picked up a 6s 64GB Rose Gold for wifey and a 6s+ 64GB Gold for me...

Well it's mainly the rose gold iPhones which is expected as its a new color and apple probably didn't want produce as much as they don't know how it will be received by the crowd.

Oh lol, the "hey look at my BRAND NEW iPhone!"-guys strike again. gold is soooo 2013/2014, rose gold is 2015 baby!

Would have been one of them though (;)) if the rose gold would be more like copper :( Was disappointed it's so pink/salmon.. :(

Don't forget those lovely antenna bands that blend so lovely with the Rose gold (sarcasm).

I actually like the rose gold. But those bands. I just can't ignore them.

Pre-order supplies of the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus in the United States are starting to dwindle a bit since pre-orders kicked off at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time, with several of the new iPhone models now displaying shipping estimates of 2-3 weeks. Models in the new Rose Gold color are the most heavily affected, particularly in the United States.

In the United States, Rose Gold T-Mobile iPhone 6s Plus models in 64 GB and 128 GB capacities slipped to 2-3 weeks very soon after pre-orders began, and more recently the following models have also moved to 2-3 weeks as of 2:00 AM Pacific Time:

- Rose Gold AT&T 64 GB iPhone 6s Plus
- Rose Gold AT&T 128 GB iPhone 6s Plus
- Rose Gold Verizon 64GB iPhone 6s Plus
- Rose Gold Verizon 128 GB iPhone 6s Plus
- Rose Gold T-Mobile 16 GB iPhone 6s Plus
- Rose Gold T-Mobile 64 GB iPhone 6s
- Rose Gold T-Mobile 128 GB iPhone 6s
- Space Gray T-Mobile 128 GB iPhone 6s Plus

Slipped shipping estimates in Apple's online stores for other countries such as the UK, Australia, and Germany are a bit more varied, with a few more models in other colors moving to 2-3 weeks, although Rose Gold is again the most common variety to see the later estimates. The UK in particular is seeing extended shipping, as nearly all iPhone 6s Plus models with the exception of a few 16 GB models are now listed at 2-3 weeks.

Customers placing orders for one of these models with 2-3 week estimates could see their deliveries pushed into October considering transit times of several days following shipment.

While pre-order supplies of some models of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are beginning to sell out, it may still be possible to get one of these iPhones on launch day by visiting an Apple retail location on Friday, September 25, depending on stock levels.

The iPhone 6s is available in 16, 64, and 128 GB capacities in the United States for $199, $299, and $399, respectively, with a two-year contract. Contract-free pricing begins at $649. Apple's higher-priced iPhone 6 Plus is available in 16, 64, and 128 GB capacities for $299, $399, and $499, respectively, with a two-year contract. Contract-free pricing on the larger-screened device starts at $749.

I was able to get a 64GB space grey 6S Plus at 3:02 AM on the Apple Store App while the Apple Store site wouldn't load and AT&T app/site already said shipping 10/16-23. Now Apple is saying shipping 2-3 weeks. Pre-ordering on the app is always the way to go, especially with Apple Pay and saved carrier/shipping information.

LOL - yes, every year's iPhone, iPad, etc. is the most powerful yet, best yet, etc. so they could really drop those references. I do think that there was enough features in the new model to do an upgrade (not a 'must have', but no phone really is a 'must have') - particularly if you're looking to change your storage space as I was.

I actually like the idea of a little more weight to the phone. I know that Apple is obsessed with thinner/lighter, but I don't mind a phone with a little mass to it.

Just ordered a 6s for AT&T 128gb space grey for delivery on the 25th. Glad to see that I could still get it delivered on launch day and I didn't even wait up all night to order it.

I'll wait for the 7
Lol! Same here believe it or not this phone is either not really in high demand compared to the 6 and 6 plus or they made a lot more phones this time because I woke up at 3:49 this morning and still saw some rose gold 6 pluses available. I have the 6 plus and didn't see the need to blow more money for a phone that pratically looks the same. Im actually looking forward to the iPad Pro!

I couldn't get an order through AT&T's website until 4:48am EDT. Mid October delivery for a 64GB Gold 6s+.

. Ultimately, however, they want to satisfy their consumer base and they have been making pledges to fix their supply shortages at launch.

naive customers are apple's favorite <3. if they wanted to "satisfy their consumer base" they wouldn't be providing 16gb models, nor would they be limiting features that can easily be implemented on older models (see: swipeselection, cydia tweak, now being limited to 3d touch models only). not to mention ram, providing no increase in battery life (the feature people wanted upgraded the most according to polls) 5gb of icloud storage, $300 for a keyboard and a pencil and so on.

this year simply won't have as much interest as last year as there's no new design nor is there an increase in screen size (2 important factors for last year's success), it's just simple hardware upgrades that won't be fully exploited till the iphone 7 comes out

Every year, I stand in line at the Apple Store. I have fun and usually get to work by lunch with the new phone while everyone drools since they have to wait to get home and hope the FedEx guy dropped it off correctly. This year I am on the other side. Will not be in a position to stand in line. I ordered mine earlier and will receive it on the 25th. And I won't be able to gloat in front of anyone. :(

After standing in line for 3 days last year for the iPhone 6 plus for the 16gb Version. Me and my hubby decided to pre-order this year since we have the jump program from T-Mobile. Instead of going to apple's website. We called T-Mobile and got our phones ordered we have a confirmation but not a delivery date. T-Moblie would give us a delivery date in a few days. I got the 6s Plus 128gb rose gold color. My hubby got the space gray iPhone 6s plus 128 gb. hopefully it comes on time. But it really is a bummer that they stuck with the 16 GB variant. I will never make the same mistake again.
