I always thought that was just about the silliest reason not to upgrade, because it "looks" the same as the last one, and not because you don't want new CPU, GPU, stronger phone, faster wireless, better camera, etc. Maybe because I think of smartphones as just pocket computers, and computers keep the same look for a much longer life cycle than a phone. It's like saying well I never bought a (pre 2013) intel Mac Pro because it looked just like my G5!
I see your point well given. But hey let's face it not all of us are Donald Trump lol! Of course improved specs and camera is important but I rather get those improvements with the iPhone 7 which will also get a redesign.

I never do. Cases are ugly and add bulk. I always have AppleCare + and I treat the phone carefully. In my experience cases usually scratch and scuff them up anyway.
I've put every iPhone I've had (and other phones) in a case from day one, and the day I remove the case to sell the phone, it is pristine. Maybe you buy the crappy silicone cases that do little to keep dust and dirt out. After spending $1000 on a phone, I can't imagine it being all scuffed up from day-to-day use.

You will GET the phone the day of release, which is Friday. They always ship it earlier in that week but have a hold on it until the day of release.

See I've upgraded every year as I usually sick of the same phone after 12 months, I usually colour hop so it's not identical but really the features alone have always made the S models more enjoyable refinements.
Which is fine because it is your opinion which you are entitled to. I just rather stay on the tick of the tock iPhone releases.

I have always been an "S" user because it is replacing a phone from a couple years ago which "looks" very different.

It is not about the look of the phone. I think the 4 and 5 series iPhones look so much better but I am very excited to get my hands on the new 6s.
That's fine bro! Enjoy your new 6s! I will enjoy to get my hands on the iPad pro this year! Next year I'll get the 7.

iPhone 6S Plus 128Mb in the USA is $649 that equates to Sterling as £420.66 and yet the same iPhone in the UK is £789.00 ($1217.27) close to double the price, why? It would pay to get a cheap flight from the UK to US rather than getting ripped off.

If you plan properly and take care of your phone, you can sell the current model every year, and only pay around 150-200 for the new one. Do your own 1 year cycle :)

Thats what I do. I'm on a 2 person Verizon family plan. The other user is happy with an older phone and never upgrades. Hence, I have it timed so one phone is due for an upgrade yearly each September.

I spend the $199 or $299 on the phone yearly, then sell the last year's model for double that price. So every year I get a new phone and ~$200 cash back.

True, Im locking myself into a longer and longer term with Verizon; but with T-Mobile's buy out plans I really don't care.

i'm impressed! 2 hours of preordering before they dropped! i'll give apple props for this preorder after the fiasco of the last two phones and the absolutely HORRIBLE watch preorders.... i was really prepared for the worst!

Through the VZW website right at midnight PST, I ordered my iPhone 6s Plus 64GB Silver and things went very smoothly. My wife was torn as whether to upgrade or not, and told me when she woke up this morning that she wanted to go ahead and get one. So, I put through another order through the VZW website for a iPhone 6s 64GB Rose Gold. Process was just as smooth and says 9/25 delivery, and that was 6 hours after pre-orders went up. Hopefully the VZW website isn't lying regarding the 9/25 ship date for her phone.

Ordered 128gb space gray 6s+ at 3:01am from ATT. Ships 10/16-10/223.

Hope that was just ATT being cautious.

Most likely it will change. As a premier member, I was able to go through the pre order process earlier and that is the date that showed so I held off until pre orders officially began and the date is 9/25. Depending on color/size, phones are still shipping on 9/25

This is the first iPhone release that I have not even thought about waking up to pre-order. My 6 plus works great and 3D touch just isn't interesting.

I order a iPhone 6s plus 128GB Verizon Space Grey via the Apple Store App

Also order from Verizon.com place edge upgrade from iPhone 6 64GB silver
to iPhone 6s 128GB gold

I made the mistake of being drunk when I ordered mine ... so I am not entirely sure how many I just ordered.

I will find out tomorrow when I sober up lol

Your order confirmation email will look like this:

Thank you for your order.
We’ll let you know when your items are on their way.

naive customers are apple's favorite <3. if they wanted to "satisfy their consumer base" they wouldn't be providing 16gb models, nor would they be limiting features that can easily be implemented on older models (see: swipeselection, cydia tweak, now being limited to 3d touch models only). not to mention ram, providing no increase in battery life (the feature people wanted upgraded the most according to polls) 5gb of icloud storage, $300 for a keyboard and a pencil and so on.

this year simply won't have as much interest as last year as there's no new design nor is there an increase in screen size (2 important factors for last year's success), it's just simple hardware upgrades that won't be fully exploited till the iphone 7 comes out
Wow - are you a regular 'negative Nancy' or did you just get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? I agree the 16GB should go. With 4K video and Live Photos, the 16 GB will be full real quick if you're using any of the phone's features. With that said, no one forces you to buy the 16 GB (as much as I'd like to see at least a 32 GB model sell at the price of the 16 GB). There are features that could be implemented in older phones, but there are also features like 3D Touch and the camera that can't.

The keyboard isn't $300 and no one is telling you that you need to buy it or the optional pencil. For $1/month you now get 50GB instead of instead of 20GB. If you can't afford the $1/month, then Apple products may not be for you. No, they didn't increase the screen size, but I can't see that anyone was asking for it (many consider the 6 series phones too big and are sticking with the smaller 4 and 5 series still). The S series is always the same form factor with internal hardware improvements - why doesn't anyone understand that? You state it is hardware upgrades that won't be exploited until the 7 series, but I suggest that the S series is simply bringing each major series as far as it can go (hence the reason I'm on the S series cycle vs. non-S cycle). As for last years success, that was due to Apple FINALLY upgrading to phone sizes that the majority of people had been waiting for. As for no new design - I would suggest that the A9, 3D Touch, camera, etc. are new designs - new designs don't mandate a change in the physical appearance of the phone.

I am very excited, and glad it wasn't as manic as previous pre-orders. I don't think it will sell as much as the last generation, as it isn't that different.

You know what I dread if that's true? Wall Street will go insane and their stock will bottom. Every iPhone to date has been more successful than the last. If pre-orders fall below last year's levels, all hell will break loose.

It doesn't matter that they sold 7 million, it doesn't matter that they have 9 billion in profits, all that matters is that sales were below last year's.

I am more excited about this release than I was the normal iPhone 6. The touchpad on my macbook pro is amazing in safari, and I cant wait to use a similar concept on a phone.

"Rose gold" aka "Pink"

I hate the gold color, but I actually don't mind the rose gold (which surprises me). It looks more copper and refined. Sadly, you are stuck with a white face front. If the rose gold came with a black glass front, I'd be incredibly tempted.

I said the exact same thing!
