whats the battery diff with this on vs. off?
I'd get used to constantly having roughly the battery level depicted in the screen cap.

Looks good - though they still need to enhance the lock screen a lot more.
I guess we'll actually get a notification on a new email now too if the email was pushed..?
Does it cost anything to receive these push notifications?
Will they use up my SMS credits?

cpu quota exceeded.
Oh, that is on the lock screen. My Bad. I'd like to see the notification how it appears on the home screens or while in another app. Does it have the Ignore/view buttons like an SMS?

I was wondering the same. If it doesn't.. then someone will be able to come out with a great messaging application so I don't have to pay 10000 dollars a month for unlimited text messaging.
in america do you have to pay to receive SMS messages? if so that sounds crazy!
I have been testing it and i DO NOT like that you swipe to view and then the app opens up. It seems like as long as that message is on there, there is no way to swipe to unlock the phone and not see the message. The next notification I get I am going to try and see if there's some way to ignore it and not open the app.

Yes, you do. It's crazy.

Are these notifications transmitted as text messages ?
If so, ATT about to make some cash as people switch to that crazy $15 for unlimited text plan!
Seriously, I don't understand why any of you think for even 1 second that these would be consisted text messages. They have NOTHING to do with AT&T SMS in any way. AT&T will not know if you are receiving push notifications or checking your email, they'll only know how much data it took for you to do it. They WILL use data either Edge/3G or Wifi. So they will be billed to you as data, so you better have a data plan (like you are supposed to anyways)!
I have only got like 5 push alerts from the app, but I'm starting to think if you have multiple apps sending you alerts it's going to get really frustrating with the home/lock screen.
I already get annoyed with the text message from twitter sometimes and it will basically work the same way just using Apple's servers vs att.
I wonder if people will come off those unlimited text plans once push goes into play?
Not only doesn't it cost anything, this is going to impact the SMS service quite a bit. Poor AT&T. Once you are set up with it and apps come out, the only SMS you'll want to get get are when people on other phones text you. All those Twitters, breaking news headlines and other services that SMS you can now be push notifications to Twitterrific, AP News and other push apps. And a lot of the SMS texting can be done with Instant Messaging apps that push notify as well.Does it cost anything to receive these push notifications?

Why the lock screen can't show new emails, upcoming events, etc. is beyond me. It simply doesn't make sense. I know that Apple had that patent out for a while indicating they were investigating the possibility, but it's something that should have been available since the beginning.
