7 Plus here. Hadn't had it happen since getting the phone, and now it's happened twice in 24 hours. Very odd.

I already submitted this as a bug and it has been recognized. It will be fixed in the next update, thats what the software engineers said.
Some people with 9.7 iPad pro's still have this issue, it was never fixed with a software update....smh....u sure u actually spoke with software engineers...dont think so

I just uploaded some more diagnostic files and they have almost gotten to the bottom of the issue. Can't wait for this to be fixed in the next update. Cheers :)

To all the 7/7+ owners, I have an SE and this started happening to me after I upgraded to iOS 10. Haven't noticed it since 10.0.2, but that might be a coincidence.

I'm thinking this has to do with the "raise to wake" feature.

I had 10.0.1 when it was alll happening upgraded to 10.0.2 and it was still happing. Happened when I was trying to take a picture in the message app.

I've been having this issue since I got the phone 3 weeks ago. For the record not sure if it matters but I have a 256 GB iP7+ in Matte Black. I'm currently talking to one of the chat support people on Apple and they're moving to a "Senior Advisor" because it seems the agent doesn't know why my phone is doing this. I'm noticing also its been happening way more often since I got the phone. So annoying! It doesn't matter what app I use either it can be random 3rd party apps or iOS apps like music and it will randomly restart. Let's see what they say..

Any updates on this. It's INCREDDDDIBLY annoying.
Sure we have to just wait for the next update to be pushed out. We all are having this issue and it's definitely an aggravating one. It always does it for me right when I'm in the middle of doing something!

I've missed out on lots of good pictures because it'll do it right when i take pic.

Just curious, have any of you tried turning off the "Raise to Wake" option to see if this goes away? Settings -> Display and Brightness -> Raise to Wake -> OFF

I am unsure if 10.0.3 fixes this or if 10.1 will (when it is released) as I thought the cellular glitch would be fixed with 10.1 but they made it a separate update.

Hi, I am new in this forum, but I am having this same issue! I have an iphone 7 plus + iOS 10.1.1.
Any news about that? What is most annoying is that when it happens, you think your device restarted, but in my case, it just locked the screen, and the background apps are still there!!

PS:
- I restored from itunes without backup
- Same thing happened with my iPhone 6s + iOS 9.3.5

I dont believe the issue reported in this thread still persists, if it does for you, I advise to update to the latest iOS and you should be alright! :) (I believe its 10.2?)

It can still happen. I'm on a beta though so a springboard crash can happen. It's happened to me once. I'm not worried.
