Hey Yesterday I went over to my local Cell Phone Store that i have been using my WHole Life and he said that for about the first two weeks that the iPhone is out Apple stores will bethe only people selling the phone and then he said that not every AT&T store will be selling the phone. So when CNBC said that on the 20th AT&T stores will have the phone that means at WWDC at apple stores will be selling them that day.

They have not publish a hard date probably to accumulate as many units as possible since there were some delays in manufacture.

i know that there are other dates buzzing around out there, and that this date is not confirmed, but i welcome any information that will help me pin down when i need to plan to work from home so i can get away to buy one first thing in the morning! :D

i'm hoping that the apple stores will have them a day or two before the at&t stores (it's an apple product, and despite the partnership with AT&T, i think it makes sense if apple gets a jump of a few days or so to start selling it). anyone think there's any chance of that?

The 20th of June has not been officially stated by Apple, the one who counts, and/or AT&T so it probably should be taken with a grain of salt but at least it makes sense from the standpoint of the earlier "rumor" about AT&T limiting vacation time, etc from June 15th to July 15th. See MacRumors link...

So, the 20th of June as a release date kinda makes sense. Maybe?! Possibly?? I dunno...

I was thinking... you know the media misinterpret/exagerate and take things out of context quite often... what if that at&t store employee just said "after June 20th" and the media just to hype things up claims the guy said "June 20th"?

And why did you feel the need to post that?

I'm happy to buy 'First Gen' products. I got a 17" Powerbook RevA and havn't had one problem with it. Still using it today.

For the ones who keep saying the tired cliches of "I'll let the early adopters work out the bugs" etc. What if the iPhone turns out to have no bugs at all and lives up to the hype? Have fun waiting 1+ yrs to get yours, or don't come round here saying you got one because I won't let you live it down.

LOL.

Will there be a live keynote on the web? I can't go. But I'll love to see it.

 imagine they announce the iPhone for sale on that day... AHHHH!

Its been years since they last had a live feed.

Text commentary from the usual sites...

It should be in limited quantities at the stores before July 1, you should be able to celebrate the 4th with it if you get in line early.

This date you can count on, all others who knows.

Wait for WWDC and you will see lots of bones.

Is anyone expecting an iPhone or Apple TV goody in Leopard? There was some buzz about that several months ago, but I haven't heard anything about the rumored secret features in a while.

1. if "average people" haven't managed to save money for the iphone since mid-january, they have bigger things to worry about.
2. buy a case for it.
3. who cares? skype is great for your computer... if you're making calls away from it, use your phone.

(4.) yeah, yeah, we've heard it a thousand times before... first gen, it's gonna suck, yadda yadda... if it does, we'll buy the next one. god bless interest bearing savings accounts.

I haven't had a mobile phone since a car phone in the '80s. I definately want to pick up an iPhone as soon as they're available just to play with it. What are the logistics of buying a mobile phone? If there's a line for them at the Apple store can I expect each customer to spend 30 minutes having the agreements explained to them and deciding which one they want? Or do you get a box and take it home to fill out the paperwork?

Thanks.

If you're lucky. I think a lot of locations -- particularly in smaller markets -- will run out of iPhones before the end of the first day. That ain't all bad considering the positive buzz Apple will get from news about the scarcity of product.

It will be like Cabbage Patch Kids and Nintendo 64 all over again!

this stupid thing can't come out soon enough. i'm sick of other products getting thrown on the backburner or the floor so they can work on a damn phone.

Skype??? I think you may have missed the fact that the iPhone is a PHONE.
