D’oh you’re absolutely right. I was thinking of when the Queen launched it and called it Queen Elizabeth II despite being told it was called Queen Elizabeth 2.

Great news! While many people dislike the bezeled design, many people also like it (myself included). It's an iconic and classic Apple design. This is actually one of the main reasons I chose the 8+ over the XR. No regrets!
As for the name of this SE successor, simply 'iPhone' would be a good and plausible one (not to mention simplistic). iPhone CE and iPhone 9 are plausible too (though the latter may possibly give some the impression that it'll be inferior over the A11 iPhone X as 9 is a smaller number than the 10).
In other words, the SE is like a 5s and 6s hybrid.
I think the blue color would look nice for this SE successor. The cream-colored 'gold' of the iPhone 8 would look really nice too! It would be a bit of a shame if the SE successor doesn't come in one or both of these aforementioned colors.

100% agreed. Since it's an existing, and well tested component, it's definitely a great candidate to be re-used.
This gives me hope that they'll continue making SE models! I love my SE and I want to get another model in the same lineup once this one kicks the bucket (which hopefully won't me any time soon)

As for having Touch ID and headphone jack, I'm assuming yes and no respectively, since it's based on the 8.

This may be off-topic and weird, but I wasn't even aware several iPhone models had barometers haha.
The iPhone XR used to come in a 256GB option, but Apple discontinued it along the September 2019 event.

Yes, and the same fate could very well befall the iPhone 11 later this year. A 256GB SE would be $549, it’s a viable price so I think there will be a 256GB model. The 256GB 11, currently $849, will be $749 and that runs pretty heavily into the pricing for iPhone 12. I think it gets discontinued.
