Sure … incorrect.
In the meantime in the real world

I read you just this part:

Apple's 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini and ‌iPhone‌ 13 mini have been comparatively unpopular since their launch, and the poor sales have made it clear that most consumers do not want smaller sized iPhones.

Apple discontinued the model because they were not selling accordingly, not because they hate you. It is a fact.
Buddy ... DIG a LOT DEEPER!

There is a LOT more information on the sales numbers globally you've completely never even tried to search for. I've already done across multiple posts of mine back in early 2023. Its in my post history.

Again, read my previous post when I wrote that I tried FaceID and didn't like it.

You obviously living in a bubble if you think Face ID is the best thing ever, even though it's not.

Go do an experiment - grab your wife/friends phone without them noticing and shove it in their face and see what happens...

And for laptops, it can be as practical as using it with an iPhone and iPad.
In this thread you demonstrated a few times you don’t even know the basics about how FaceID works… maybe you tried it, but surely not extensively.

sure… why thrust Apple’s choice and MacRumors on this, when we have someone on the web writing something different ? 😂

Quite arrogant. What do you gain by this?

Does ANYONE KNOW or KNEW what the sales numbers Apple was ACTUALLY expecting?!
Why NOT did Apple actually ADVERTISE either of the mini's beyond the launch video of the iPhone keynotes - the 13 mini got less than 4 minutes spoken about.

So Answer that in all your wisdom: Globally why did Apple NOT advertise either of the iPhone mini's when their 2nd Executive in command SPECIFICALLY stated their research showed a LOT of iPhone SE users kept their devices and was waiting for a similar small phone?

Hmmm.

That's exactly WHY both mini's failed. NOT that either was an inferior product ... Apple leads and marketing team failed the company and the product. Makes you think WHY though?!

Kids these days are quite something... 🤮

Yeah you're mistake ...

Oppo & OnePlus are already in R&D to make 6.2-6.3" "mini" Android phones to be launched and shipping internationally by late summer 2025
Oppo X8 mini
OnePlus 13T/13 Mini (name not yet even out of R&D but the X8 mini name is a given).

There are several others under 6" still for sale in specific nich markets.

ZTE made teh Zenphone 9 and 10 of the exact same sizes as the iPhone mini's and sold quite well also.

Maybe stick your head outside the Apple bubble you may find more information that refutes your ignorance.
Did you read my message? if so please clarify which small phone is made my Samsung or Google.

I’m in the U.S.. And if I can’t go into and see a phone in person, then I cannot consider that a viable alternative. That does restrict my choice, but that is a limit I am forced to live with.

DeepIn2U… I REALLY don’t mean to flame you. But you and quite a few other Mini fans need to calm down, get ahold of yourselves and stop hijacking every other thread. For whatever reason, Apple no longer wanted to produce more Minis. And so it’s gone - just like like my preferred iPhone, the Plus, will be gone later this year. Please… go buy one of the Android Mini-equivalents you’re talking about and be happy. I wish you well but you and others need to stop inserting your holy crusade for a new Mini into so many threads.

Honestly, I don't think we'll see a new Mini again.

And yet again it was APPLE that created the product and the specific reason their EVP stated was due to iPhone SE 1 users ;)

That snide logic has a fallacy. And Apple's choice was flawed from the launch - you fail to ignore that nor even consider that. I'm not saying I'm better I'm questioning and always have their reasoning AFTER the initial mini product launched and why no love from them. That's always been my rebuttal.

yet I wasn't the one that began the debate ... why won't you direct the flame to those that initiated?
I have bought the smallest and powerful alternative and have owned my S23 since August 2023 yet I may for other reasons purchase another 12/13 mini soon enough.

There are certain features or use cases that with certain products work better for you.

recall the iPhone 6/6s and how long it took Apple to make large screen phones? well similar sentiment but I get you.

And honestly I've not mentioned the mini's prior to this thread ( I believe) for several months now. Unsure how I'm hijacking but that'll be the end of it. if there was an emoji I'd use that lol.

FYI many other threads did lead to feedback to be noticed by Apple to make changes, despite others disliking it. but alas.

Although the the Galaxy 23 seems to be a much closer match to the current baseline iPhone 16 than the iPhone 13 mini

The fact is Apple discontinued the product almost immediately (the second year was on the wave of the first one, because you don’t open a production line for just one year).
To discontinue a product after just 2 years has an huge cost (just think about logistics and spare parts) so Apple for sure didn’t make that choice lightly hearted. There was a serious demand problem.

There is a market for small smartphones, and you can see in this thread they are very vocal, but it is quite evident that market is not big enough for Apple to make it profitable.

Are you serious ?
S23 is not compareable to iPhone 13 Mini.
It is very similar to a iPhone 16

I held them both along with the 14 and 15 pro in my hands side by side. Each is 1-2.3 yrs before the 16 launched so unsure how to comoare something that never existed when the others launched. But i still didnt say tbe name of the smaller phones this time. Just responding to a ludicrous comoarison that has no merrit. The 16 is taller than both.

Logistics and spare parts has ONLy to do woth fulfilling repairs according to

2yr AppleCare+ members that expire,
Monthly AppleCare+ members that do NOT expire,
And vintage users up to 7yrs in cupertino only!
Like every other product.

How many years was the PM G4 Cube made for again?
That Apple Vision Pro's production numbers dropped really fast too. Its looking like a 2yr product.
Iphone X ans XS = 2yrs and major redesign change there.
Iphone 3G/3GS, 4/4S, 5/5s 1-2yr gap gave us the 1st iphone SE!

Keep talking about this failed 2yr lifecycle of product design where logistics and spare parts wouldve added cost!

The 13 series added a second generation FaceID system which ONLY the Pros got that full year!
Alao double the storage 512GB vs 256GB!
Those 2 alone add significant cost, so no Apple didnt plan on cancelling yet my logic still stands irrefutably - why add such cost and NOT in any country beyond their site advertise the product!?! and only 1 mention on X/twitter by any rep which was Tim regarding a camera contest.

Yet u come at me with insults cause Im not an apple employee or executive. The logic states the finances vs sales and failure doesnt make sense to simply state the product didnt sell. This isnt 1926 at Ford where you buuild it theyll come philosohy lol.

Sorry but this is childs play n u cannot even comment with by rebuttal main crucial point just insults n put downs. Ok im too sexy for this one.

There were no insults in my post. Everything you wrote here is a mix of irrelevant facts with nothing to do with my comment.
There were no sustainable market for iPhone Mini. Period. It doesn’t matter if you liked or not. Apple discontinued it.

Above ... these are FACTS in North America!
All Apple Products get a 7yr support [I did NOT say Apple care with this specifically btw] and in Cupertino you can get your Apple product repaired at any Apple store ONLY in that city at teh 7yr "Vintage" lifetime. You can easily search this up and other long-time Apple fans and users can back me up on this. You make a LOT of generic statements.

Please define your definition of 'sustainable market for the iPhone mini' cause clearly Apple NEVER defines that in terms of sales for ANY product publicly - NEVER! Apple ONLY states what has shipped and sold in quarterly investor meetings - you'd know this.

Finally, the data shows that the iPhone 14 Plus panel orders are notable higher than the iPhone 13 mini. The iPhone 14 Plus is officially set to launch next week on October 7, and launch day stock is still plentiful.

Bloomberg recently reported that Apple had planned to increase iPhone 14 production as we approached the holiday season. Due to lower-than-expected demand, however, Apple is said to have backed off of that idea. Ming-Chi Kuo has also repeatedly indicated that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is Apple’s most popular iPhone this year.

Gotta run to the gym ... if you'd like I'll post more ;)

Again, a lot of unrelated information on your post. The graph you showed is saying exactly what we are saying:iPhone 12 Mini sales were lower than expected (even if those numbers are not officially coming from Apple).
Apple doesn’t have to define anything to you or me: they have sales data and discontinued iPhone Mini after just two iterations. So they defined its sales like poor.
You Mini fans are very vocal on this forum, but that doesn’t change facts: Apple decided iPhone Mini was poorly received from its customers base. Period.

No VERY relevant information youre just choosing not to acknowledge it period!

You ask for facts I lrovided that - in part of the dats that ia READILY and easily SEARCHABLE right here from macrumors main page.

Im not spoon feeding somwone whom as an adult should know how easily it os to find it regardless if they are un believing or unwilling to do so!

You xan also search IDC or Canalys' sites for regional sales of the 13 mini and 12 mini across their life spans.

This is irregardles of the products no longer for dale for reasons Aplle has NEVER shared nor EVER shared theie expectations for sales - which you CLING to without ANY relevant fact nor information at all beyond your opinion.

So stop being ignorant to any debate or information against your own and has been provided when you cannot wbyond opinion place yours. Where are you charts to suport your end of the debate?! Nothing at all.

And youre still hijacking a thread you claimed I have.

The hypocrisy!

Facts are the Minis’ sales were poor. Apple doesn’t have to tell you what they expected. They were estimated at 3/4% of total sales, which is poor for their standards so they discontinued the product.
The fact you loved it doesn’t make any difference. The majority of the customers didn’t .
