For most generations since tele was introduced, if you zoomed into 2x and covered the 2x lens, nothing would happen, because it was actually just cropping in the main lens picture unless it was quite bright out, because in dimmer light the 2x would be a worse shot despite being optical zoom.

Is this not the case anymore as of the 14 Pro?
