I prefer either of the curved body versions. But it doesn't really matter to me as I would never get one. I couldn't go back to a smaller phone even if I wanted to.

My heart is with the Onleaks version, but I'd be surprised if 9to5Mac was wrong. I think that the reason for minimal parts leaks is because the SE is based on an old device that doesn't stand out.

I also like the 9to5 take. The classiest of the bunch. I highly doubt they would release a "new" device with those awful antenna bands. The sooner the 6 design elements disappear the better.

I can't imagine the phone won't look identical the the 6... why go back to a 6 year old design?

The iPhone 6 is the closest looking design to the original iPhone we've seen since 2007. Talk about going back to old designs ...

All the iPhones have been almost identical for years, save the new sizes that came along a couple years back now.

Much as I like the Apple universe, am I the only one who is craving something truly *new*, not just a larger / smaller / rounder / thinner version of an almost ten-year-old product?

True. Such is the testimony of Jobs' foresight that people still buy old design at new design prices. They really were years ahead of their time. Ten years in fact. That goes for the Macs, IOS and Mac OS too. They don't need to worry with such a 'nostalgia buffer' to fall on. For now at least.

If they go with the 9to5 mac model, they better brand it as 'iPhone R(etro)'. But to me it's hard to believe they would use such an old design. I hope they can get rid of the bands on the back with whatever the new model looks like.

If this is to be their entry price unit, why would they go through so much trouble coming up with a new design? They already have 2 shapes to choose from, the 5 or the 6. The 5 offers the benefit of already coming in the size, but has the disadvantage of poor product differentiation between a new model and the 2+ year old 5's already out there. The 6 would be a more likely design choice, and though they don't have tons of machines already set up to produce them, they at least have almost 2 years of experience in producing the shapes. If this is supposed to be nearly on par with the 6s spec-wise, I think it would be un-wise to have it look at all similar to the 5, but then again, since the 7 will be coming out within the year, perhaps they would want a newer design to carry on into the next few years. If this is true, the only explanation I can think of for why they'd bother introducing a new design altogether would be as a test batch of sorts for whatever design the 7 will have (similar to how they handled the iPad mini -> iPad air design).

I would like if it was exactly the square style with glass on front and back like the iPhone 4 but as thin as the iPhone 6.

iPhone "Classic" could work just fine. Though it might not sound quite as progressive as they would hope.

Could "SE" merely be an audio distortion of someone over hearing "C" (for Classic)? Even trying to imagine "SE" written on a box looks ridiculous.

I like them in order of their appearance in the picture. In the third version, the power button is on the side which would be a foolish move for a 4" device. Every time I try to squeeze the power button on my iPhone 6, I also end up squeezing the volume rockers. Keep the power button on top, Apple.

I think it was a foolish move for the bigger design as well, though I get why they did that from an engineering standpoint.

I'd be stoked if it was the same body as a 5S, but with upgraded internals. I hate the curves on the 6.

ack, same here, the flat sides looked more minimal, and had better grip - not to mention the camera bump, sigh!

Id rather have an updated 5c design personally

yeah, I also heard the polycarbonte case had better reception, and maybe the material is also more scratch resistant and one does not need another plastic bumper around the aluminum? ;-)

Nostalgia!

It won't be exactly the old design. But many here have expressed a preference for the 4 and 5 series over the current designs, and perhaps the designers of the SE share that preference.

Why go back to Old Coke when New Coke is so much....newer?

From a business standpoint it would be a better idea to keep with the 9to5 Mac version, the front display looks almost exactly like the current 5S, meaning they wouldn't have to change manufacture new glass and by the looks of it the current 5S cases would work with it without alteration.
Honestly I don't care what it looks like...
