haha the apple influence is so amusing.... and the people out there so thirsty to soak it all up... everyone seems to be gushing and raving over a phone that just 2 years ago we where screaming to be over...

Who is this "everyone" you're hyperbolizing about? And who is thei "we"?

so in 2 years going back to a 4" phone is cool and exciting... seriously??? And these are the same people that where whining that the 5s was too small and apple was foolish for taking so long to make a bigger phone...

I would imagine these are a very different set of people.

We are at a point in mobile technology that mobile software has hit a ceiling and it doesn't really mater how many cores are in ther are software still is what it is. and ios is not very demanding nor are the apps it runs... yea the new iphone will run games better but i cant imagine gaming on such a small screen to be enjoyable...

sorry for the long post but point is its hilarius how apple can backtrack and get praise for basically giving people a product they just whined about and have them love it.

No offense, but you're kind of being ridiculous with this post. why would a gamer buy a 4" phone, other than it costs $250-350 less than the same technology with a larger screen more appropriate for such an activity.nas for the rest of your diatribe, I'm not sure what to say ... "Mobile software has hit a ceiling"!? Where's your proof for that? And what does that have to do with an upgraded 4" phone? Faster is faster. And the SE is notably faster than the 5s. It also has substantially better battery life.
Seriously, what's the point here?

I am pretty sure it is the iPhone SE's vibration motor rattling. It seems to be coming from the top-left area of the phone not the power button.

Three items are mounted on the iPhones 4/4s, 5/5s and the SE with a slight give - the power button and the two volume buttons. I tested all three - have not checked the 3s as it is in some corner of the house. These buttons are contact buttons in function.

All these buttons "rattle" when shook vigorously; you can test each by holding a finger lightly on the other two. The loudest sound is from the power button. All tests done after removing the additional cases - very minimal noise from the power button when the bumper case is in place.

The mute button is anchored to the interior to push a lever up and down - no rattling at all from this button.

There are no interior parts in the iPhones that move or rattle - even on beyond normal use shaking. The lenses do not move. Only a broken iPhone's interior rattles.

I have not checked the 6 series, the 6s at "home" is in college!

The 6S has been the first iPhone I have ever had that has absolutely no play in any of the buttons. The 6 had a slightly loose mute switch.

6s owner here. The SE is practically perfect.
I agree! 6s to SE owner here too, and am very happy I made the switch. No regrets. It's funny how much I missed the smaller size/one handed use. At first yes, the size seemed tiny but within a couple hours I was fine.

To each his own - but I don't feel like just because we're coming from a larger phone to SE, that we're not allowed to have an opinion.

I feel like 90% of the comments in this thread mention the "rattling" (including mine, obviously) but damn can some SE owners give us their OPINIONS on the phone aside from the "rattling"...

i switched over to the iphone se from a nexus 5. been using android since.... 2009 so this is my first time with ios.

so far i absolutely love my se. the phone fits wonderfully in my hand. i can easily operate the phone with one hand. the battery is absolutely fantastic. a single charge lasts MUCH longer than my nexus 5 did. i received mine on the 31st and haven't charged it since. the screen looks gorgeous, the sound is great, and everyone i know tells me i sound clearer on their end.

ios has also been a pleasant experience.

overall i love my se and thrilled apple released a modern 4in phone. i love the ergonomics of the se.

edit:
also don't experience this "rattling power button" people speak of.

No, some are excited for a "classic" design with the near-latest internals.

My last iPhone was a 32GB iPhone 4. I thought it was terrific. By the time I was ready for another phone, all that was available were the 6 and 6 Plus. I wasn't a fan of the iPadization of the iPhone body nor the larger size nor the price. So I switched to Android for a season. For me the SE looks great and the unlocked price is excellent.

This Summer (maybe sooner) I'll be getting one... still haven't decided between 16GB or 64GB, but I had a great experience with StraightTalk and the iP4 and look forward to getting back to an iPhone.

That's some really strong Kool Aid. But hey, if you have the money to drink it, by all means.

Wow that's amazing. Glad you're having such a great experience. You don't feel limited by iOS? I know a lot of people say they're happy with the freedom and openness of Android.

Well, to me it's a deal because some people have rattle and some don't. Id consider trying another SE, but I kind of prefer to use my JOD with T-Mobile. I'm not sure if they'd let me exchange for any issues within 14 days like Apple does, especially without a restocking fee.

We were going to buy straight from Apple for my wife, but she's fine with her iPhone 5 still.

Funny. I finally noticed the power button of my 5S rattles because this article pointed it out. I've been using it for 1.5 years (yes, I bought it after the 6 launch because of the 6's size). But to notice that I have to shake it close to my ear, which isn't going to happen in normal use.
Looking forward to have the same rattling in my SE when it arrives in a few days :)

Edit: and while we're at it, since Apple brought the small iphones up to date, how about a "normal people" version of the Mac Pro? The Xeon may be useful, but I want just one gaming oriented (mid range will be fine) video card instead of the two video editing cards...

Finally got my SE today. All well. Yes, it rattles a bit but I really don't care. Asked for a space grey but the company I work for gave me a silver, doesn't matter either. At least I got a 64 GB. Don't look a given horse in the mouth :)

Does your screen have a yellow band across the top?

Nope. There is a sticker on the back though.
