Bluetooth issue.

It's a deal breaker because I have to use it as a "phone phone" all day. BTW, in my case it is only telephone audio output over Bluetooth - car or headset. Earbuds, built-in speaker, and, even music over Bluetooth were normal. Only audio output from a telephone call over Bluetooth was distorted and horrible quality.Tried several Restores and pair/unpair, etc, etc..

Took it in to the Genius Bar for service or a swap. No stock or service swaps available. Was hoping to revert to 9.3 from 9.3.1 to see if it resolved, but they offered a refund. I took it. Back to an iPhone 6.

I'll be back for another SE when I hear the issue is fixed. With my luck, it will be a software update today. Love the small pocketable form factor.
So you're saying you think it IS software and not hardware?

I'm totally not trying to sound like an ass in saying this. I know for many people, it's not worth the effort. However, I wish people would force Apple to improve quality control by not accepting defective screens and such. It enables them to cheapen their QC and get away with it. It's pure capitalism. If the consumer doesn't speak with their purchasing power (I.e., return/refuse to buy), Apple won't change or any other company, for that matter.

I would agree.

If anything about the phone isn't up to snuff, return it and try again.

Doesn't matter if you paid $200, $400, or $650.

Realizing this is why I returned my SE the other day and traded in my 6 for a 6S instead. The yellowish screen was what bothered me, and while it's 'small' in the overall scope of things, reading about other people having the same issue on here made not want to bother going through the exchange process and risk being stuck in the end with a $700 (Canadian) phone I wasn't happy with. It's a great phone otherwise but it was a flaw I would have noticed every time I turned it on, in the end.

The Bluetooth issue is really gaining traction. Wondering if it's hardware or software?

Yeah I just returned my SE today for this reason, and I almost overlooked this issue as well. If I didn't have other iPhones I'd think something is up with my Bluetooth headset. When inventory catches up I'll try again

All great with my 64GB Gold. Out of the box it had a yellow area at the top of the display. I chose to keep it regardless, due to that being an issue in the past from glue not being fully cured. After a few days the yellow tint went away, as expected. It took my launch 4s a couple of weeks to subside. No issues connecting to my car Bluetooth or the call quality. I am super pleased with the battery life! I have to root, debloat, remove carrieriq, and undervolt my android devices to even approach the battery life I'm getting. I'm so tired of androids unusable out of the box bs.

Just want to know that is their any defects in your iPhone se. Going to buy one soon

I'm getting one for myself and my daughter. I'm just trying to figure out if I should wait for the Bluetooth problem to get sorted first. It's happening to my 6S Plus so I don't think it's just an SE problem, but I'm not sure.

Yellow screens and clackety buttons have always been a random issue so I'm not worrying about it. I'll just return for an exchange any device that has a bad screen. I'm not sure the clackety home button would bother me.

If there's a defect, they'll replace it. No point going into a purchase with a negative attitude.

Every time i got new iPhone it has defects.the latest iPhone I purchased has some display issues including home button some times glitches when pressing. So was in curious to know which new defects iPhone se have

I don't have any trouble with my SE which I purchased from a local store. Saying that, the home button just feels weird to me... it doesn't make the 'clicky' noise, but it doesn't feel as nice as other versions. IMO, I think the mechanical button should be phased out for capacitive-touch and made a little smaller. If the iphone will ever be IP67 there is a lot of work to do to make it water-tight.
No Bluetooth issue. It pairs with my vehicle and audio quality is fine. Don't have the text option working yet though.

My se has been fine since day one. I also just believe in enjoying the phone. I don't look closely for defects as I am sure one could find something wrong with anything. I say buy it and enjoy it.

My SE seems OK too, no weird home button and no problem with the BT to my car. It's a fast little unit and I'm loving it. I sold my 6 for £280 ($400) and didn't even need to buy a case and screen protector as I had them all from my 5S.

If every new iPhone you've received has had defects, maybe you're just unlucky(not likely) or too picky(likely)?

I mean, I've had trouble with a couple apple products, but from the threads I read there seems to be a group of people who will NEVER be happy with their device. Ultimately, they settle for one with a minor defect because they're tired of swapping them.

When I shake my phone, I hear a rattling sound. How do you know that's the camera and not the power button? But regardless, it doesn't bother me.

I also have Bluetooth quality issues when making calls. This is definitely a problem. Holding out hope that the next software update will fix it.

Hold the power button with your finger, and then shake it. Rattle goes away -> it's just the power button.

Ever so slight yellow in upper part of screen near where battery indicator and coverage is, it very very minimal and only at certain angles and depending on what screen I'm on is it noticeable, non issue for me.

home button has a bit of a click sound but its not that bad and it seems to only do it if I press the button in a certain way it seems.

No rattles of any kind.

Perfectly happy here.

I checked for the yellow screen on mine and I can't tell if I can actually see yellow or if I'm making myself see yellow because other people have it. It's so minimal if there is any on mine, and it's probably just the adhesive that will eventually go away.

Today I received my second iPhone SE and I will return it for the same reason I returned the first one:

The display (compared to my iPhone 5) is -sorry Apple- crap. By crap I mean it handles color changes of high contrast very badly. It's very notable if I'm scrolling through black text on white background like the iPhone welcome screen when choosing the language, Instapaper, Tweetbot, Safari or Mail. The former black pixels get violet before becoming white. The actual black-to-white (or inverse) color change is a noticeable black-to-violet-to-white (or inverse) color change. While scrolling large parts of the display have a violet hue instead of looking white. As soon as the movement stops everything looks fine.

Since reading/scrolling in Mail, Instapaper, Tweetbot and Safari is 80% of my iPhone usage it's very annoying. I've never seen this behavior on any iPhone or iPad before (except the first iPhone SE of course). It's also easily noticeable in the settings App.
