I also used Amex and I saw the initial charges on Sunday for both of my iPhone SEs and Apple Care. I have a notification set to notify me via SMS any time there is a charge when my card is not present. I currently don't see any charges to my account when checking via the web.

I see both iPhones on my support profile, I have received the AppleCare emails, and I have received the shipping notifications overnight. When I check Apple.com for my orders, I don't see any errors when I check the Order Details link for each phone. It correctly shows my Bill to information and indicates that I used Amex and the last four digits of my card number.

What do you see on Apple.com when you click on the Order Details link?

It looks just like that. Almost like there was initially an error and it was fixed and the item shipped. I got the official apple email and the tracking via UPS shows delivery tomorrow. It also shows in my support profile. It is reassuring knowing others with amex are having issues with the charge not showing. I also have the "notify me of charges when card is not present" turn on.
 
I updated my post you quoted to indicate that I found the charges listed under my current bill (cycle closed yesterday). That's why there were no pending or recent activity listed for me.

I would not worry yet, one of mine shows the same status on UPS.com. Interesting fact, I received my shipment notification email for it a minute before the email for the first one that I ordered. The first one shows "In Transit: On Time" while my second one still shows Order Processed: Ready for UPS.

Sounds like the first phone made it on to a UPS truck but the second is waiting to be loaded...

Since I am having it delivered to my work, no. I have done it in the past though. Just know if it stolen you are out of luck. Technically the UPS man could keep the package and there is nothing you can do since you presigned.
 
This often comes up (every iPhone cycle) and there are votes that are Pro pre-sign and Con (would never ever chose that option).

Just a reminder, even if you chose to pre-sign for delivery, the driver always has the final say as to if they feel it is safe to leave your package.

My status showed the same this morning with the "Shipment issue" message. However, I just checked and it reads "Order processed." Still shows only label created in UPS tracking, but I'm sure it will get here tomorrow.
 
They moved my delivery date from April 1-3, 2016 to April 4-5, 2016.

Makes sense most delivery carriers will not deliver on Saturday or Sunday if there is an issue with a Friday. What region are you in and who did you order from: Apple or a Cellular carrier?

64gb Rose Gold ordered from Verizon 3/29/16. Shipped FedEx 3/30 with scheduled arrival on 3/31 to California.

My 6s was stolen on Easter =(
 
Woke up to the sound of the shipping notification. I went on my apple account and clicked "Track" and was greeted with a message saying there was a problem with my shipment, and to contact apple. I was like NUUUUUU! And I called and spoke to a super adorable lady who said that's common with new tracking numbers and to check back later and that they pledged to have my phone here on Thursday. It was updated in the hour so all is good! She asked if this was my first apple product and I said no, but I was so worried because they lost an iPod before. It fell into Bermuda Triangle.

Ordered from Apple around 8 a.m. the morning of pre-orders. My "Delivers: 04 Apr, 2016 - 05 Apr, 2016" just changed to "Preparing for Shipment." Maybe I'll get it before the weekend.
