Ordered from Apple around 8 a.m. the morning of pre-orders. My "Delivers: 04 Apr, 2016 - 05 Apr, 2016" just changed to "Preparing for Shipment." Maybe I'll get it before the weekend.

Mine too - But I'm still frustrated that my order was always "next day shipping", which would have indicated my original 4/1 (or maybe even tomorrow) date was going to happen, but yesterday when the dates slipped, my shipping was changed to "2-3 day shipping".

:-(

I would love for a miracle to happen and have it come tomorrow/Friday. I don't really have a burning desire to go deal with the Apple store "scene" and tech bro's in colored shirts - I essentially detest the Apple Stores now and for the last 3 years or so

I did an online chat and asked about the slip to "2-3 day shipping." They assured me it would be overnight shipping, so I don't know which to believe. I'm with you on the Apple store. It used to be special, now it's not much better than Best Buy. I try to order everything online -- I don't mind waiting a few days, instead of going retail and feeling worse about a company I love.

So I called T-Mobile and they basically said it's on back order. I asked if I'd receive it on Thursday and they said no but Friday probably. When I ordered my configuration the website said ships on 3/30 but as of now the site says 7-14 days. Hope I'm not waiting two weeks for it seeing as I ordered it on Friday. My order still says processing and that details are not available right now. Pretty disappointing.

Interesting. Great explanation. May I ask what plan you're continuing to get charged an activation fee?

Nevermind, I found it.

If someone is signing up for a subsidized phone price, there is an "Upgrade Fee" of $40, but if someone is signing up for a monthly installment plan or purchasing outright, there is an "Activation Fee" of $20.

I think....

Verizon has a deal at present where if you pay for your phone in monthly installments, the "line access fee" is reduced. But the interest on the monthly installment plan is more than you save on the reduced "line access fee." I have the subsidized phone price because I think it vanishingly unlikely I'd switch away from Verizon, in spite of my upset over their pricing shenanigans. So the two-year contract is not an issue. Well, I guess it would be if I decided to switch phones, but I cannot imagine wanting a bigger phone, and I'm a use-it-until-it-dies kind of guy, not a new-every-year type. But this phone is not really subsidized at all because of the $10/month increase in my plan cost. At least they reduced the increase in the plan price for me, so my increase is half what it would have been if I hadn't talked to them about it.

I consider myself an intelligent person, but I think you'd have to be a CPA to figure out their pricing system.

Now I'm going to count to ten and take some deep breaths. It's just a monkeyblasted telephone, after all.

@daniel1948

Just that whole block of text is reason #1, #2 & #3 that I just always like to buy an unlocked full price phone from Apple and be done with it. lol

I just don't like to waste any mental energy trying to figure out what type of screw job any given carrier is trying to get away with. They always seem to have some kind of angle....if you can find it... just not a game I'm interested in playing anymore.

Since I am having it delivered to my work, no. I have done it in the past though. Just know if it stolen you are out of luck. Technically the UPS man could keep the package and there is nothing you can do since you presigned.
Yeah same here-- sent to work so the people in the shipping department can get it :D

Just wanted to share my experience so far. I ordered at 3 am on March 24. Delivers 01 Apr - 05 Apr.--Already?! OK, fine. I chat and ask if I can pick up at the store on the 31st instead and was told that it was my option to cancel the web order and try my luck at the store on the 31st. I decide to wait. Late yesterday, my status reads: Delivers 04 Apr - 05 Apr. WTH?! I chat again and was told that it is still within the range that I was sent previously--Seriously? I love/hate Apple.

Ordered an iPhone SE 64GB in Space Gray as soon as preordering went live.

It is currently on its way from California to Las Vegas via UPS for a 3/31 delivery date. :D

i really want this 4" apparent beauty to be a success. apple should be financially rewarded for going back (not exactly sure if they were following a precedent here?) to a smaller size for a vast majority of people who preferred that. i hope every iteration of iPhone going forward comes in a 4".

Go to the store. My local At&t store said they are getting good amount of quantity tomorrow/friday/saturday for SE. Depending how well you are with them, they can put it aside for you to show up in the morning. But location dependent, I have always went in at 10am and was never in line for any of the iPhone lines. Healthy amount of people, but never short of supply.

I am still debating selling my iPhone 6s+ for the SE. Hoping that AT&T has a display unit out in the next couple of days to go play on it

I sold 6s+ last month and used my 5s. I was just thinking how this phone could have more juice etc. But it felt so great using the 5 bare (no case). one handed, calling and even texting. the one negative angle was watching MLB/NHL games or youtube on the 4". otherwise great size. So this is a good present tomorrow.

Well I have my iPad Pro + LTE that I take with me everywhere so I have that to watch any movies/tv/videos I want.
My problem is I have owned a Note since the note 2 and the iPhone 6s+ for years, so not sure how well I would transition back to that size phone. Sadly I don't have another phone to use either..

I went from 6 to 6s, then 6s plus...I do miss the plus, but like you I have an iPad which i use everywhere and home for videos and other activities. But week into it, you will dig the 4". I just wish it had a better FaceTime camera and 3d touch thingy. would complete the phone.

That's odd, because with every other iPhone release, cellular stores have never known how much inventory they're getting in.

Never. Ever.

They know when the cut open the cellophane and look in the cardboard.

Yeah I don't use FaceTime, and I turned off 3D Touch, absolutely hated it. Mainly use mine to browse the web and text

Extra amount of devices as opposed to regular deliveries + multiple delivery dates. They look at the stats. Again, store to store. And who runs it.

Shipping update: My second iPhone SE (Rose Gold 64 GB) just got scanned by UPS in Nashville, TN. 18 hours behind my first one (Space Gray 64 GB). So they should be headed to the airport for the overnight roulette of routing, sorting, and delivery to my local hub tomorrow morning.

My shipment coming from Ontario, CA. Looking forward to this Porsche of a device. Sure it's small, sure a smaller screen with a lower resolution (but same PPI as 6s).

...a message saying there was a problem with my shipment, and to contact apple. I was like NUUUUUU!
Wait, you said "NUUUUUU"???

Are you it wasn't Ni?

Devise all the metrics you want. My suspicion--based on every other iPhone release--is that someone (not sure if you or them) is blowing smoke.

Who knows...I certainly don't.

My orders have just been updated on my UPS app to "In Transit: On Time." Woohoo!

My wife and I are looking forward to our new iPhone SE's and for her, a new iPad Pro 9.7"
