Teens which drive some of this a very finicky. And right now iPhone is the trend. Android just isn’t as trendy.
Maybe iPhones are trendy amongst certain people in America
However it’s in other parts of the world it’s different

I’ve been forced to work on android lately as I’ve been building cross platform app and testing on real devices is needed.

I still have no desire to switch but some of the things that instantly out me off in the past such as devices being bloated with a million apps that you can’t remove doesn’t seem to be a bold a thing as much as in the past.

One thing I do like about Android is that i can click a link in the play store in my computer browser and have it install the app on the phone/device. Saves time if i find something interesting as opposed to having to search on phone.

I’ve been buying Apple products since 1983—always among the first to grab the latest gear. For decades, Apple meant innovation, and I stayed loyal because the difference between them and everyone else was clear. But over the years, that edge has dulled. These days, I’m still using an iPhone 12 Max and older versions of just about everything else—and honestly, I’m not even in a hurry to upgrade.

When the original HomePod launched, I bought ten of them. I’ve got nine still running. Back then, Siri could actually answer questions. Now? It’s become a joke. Siri has gotten worse—significantly worse—in the last three or four years, and the software across the board feels like it’s running on fumes. The one thing keeping me tied to the ecosystem is the Apple Watch and how well it works with the iPhone.

Tim Cook’s Apple isn’t about leading anymore—it’s waiting around for other companies to innovate, so that they have something to copy or purchase. It was a good run while it lasted. 🫡
Kind of agree, I still like their OS more (especially macOS) but I don’t think I’d have trouble moving away

Windows hasn’t been a nuisance for me for a long time despite me using it more and more and even Linux is starting to look really appealing from a design perspective (I think GNOME looks really slick)

Android I honestly still dislike a lot but quite frankly I don’t use my phone enough that it would be a detriment and recently all apps I use are ****** cross platform React Native goblins that don’t even follow the iOS guidelines (like Discord) so I don’t think I’d lose that much from ditching the iPhone

I’m pretty locked into the Apple ecosystem being an iOS developer but honestly there’s very little incentive for me to buy new Macs on the regular, especially now that Apple Silicon is making them last much longer as usable macOS vessels

I don't think people understand how much better Chinese phones are now compared to iPhones.

This is the new OnePlus 13T. It has the Snapdragon 8 Elite and starts with 12GB of RAM for $550. The iPhone 16e by comparison has 8GB of RAM and starts at $700.

This is the Honor Magic 7 Pro. It has the Snapdragon 8 Elite and it can be spec'd to 16GB of RAM for $1,000. The AI features blow away anything Apple has to offer.

If you look at other phones on gizmochina, you'll find ridiculous camera focused phones. iPhones simply can't compete with the amount of customization and features Chinese OEMs have to offer.

Maybe sales will bounce back for Apple during a major redesign and the update cycle.
Very funny. That’s spec chasing and Apple has always lost there.

Not saying that they aren’t good. Using specs as proof they’re better than iPhones now when they weren’t before is untrue, which is what I said.
I suspect what the guy meant was
The products on offer from the competitors in that region are more powerful so that is why in china they are Losing sales

That I can agree with, I meant that the RAM and specs was not a great argument to showcase that.

Well this is true
However in Asia I believe you can buy a
16gb ram version of the S25 ultra because for some reason they factor that in when making a purchase

Maybe they lose in china because the competition has good products on offer
Apple's strength in the West--the ecosystem and iMessage--are low on the priority list for Chinese buyers. In 'Merica, we are willing to pay extra for the relative safety and security of Apple's walled garden and for teens, the fitting in of blue/green bubble crowds. No so in China. In China, WeChat is the ecosystem and the messaging. Remove the two biggest selling point and the iPhone has to compete on features. While it can hold its own in that regards, it falls short in terms of value. Why pay 3-4x the price for the same features?

Why would you buy an iPhone in china
When pound for pound
The competition offer better products
In relation to that country?

I don't even buy an iPhone in America because I don't care for the ecosystem nor iMessage. I got a $200 OnePlus because it's a great value. My top 3 most important features I want in a phone are: 1) root access (firewall🥳), 2) custom ROM (debloat🤗) and 3) value (I'm poor😞).

It's not funny, it's plain sad. The Honor 7 Pro video is all about AI - why don't you watch it and tell me how Apple's AI stacks up in comparison? Spoiler: It can't!!! I've been using Google Gemini to create amazing images and Apple's Image Playground is pure trash in comparison.

That’s in your opinion. The government has much more influence than here.
No
What is the point in buying an iPhone in
China
Compared with the similar priced competition
When WeChat is more popular

You do understand that your not forced to buy a huawei device in china because if you where then harmony OS would be number 1

Correct. Govt influence has something to do with it.

Strongly encouraged I would say.
