Nobody can attribute an absolute cause for decline in sales. But sure let’s speculate away.
There are different factors why Apple don’t do well in china compared to elsewhere
They are pretty much well documented

it is not just government incentives why
Apple are not doing well in china
Compared with everywhere else

But there are multiple reasons, one of which is how Apple is being pushed not the bottom. That’s pretty well documented.
WHO is pushing apple to the bottom
Because people still do actually buy the iPhone
In china

Chinese phones are becoming better and in many cases they’re objectively better in some aspects than the IPhone (and cheaper) I don’t know why this causes distress for some people, it’s ok if you like iPhones but it’s been a while since apple was cutting edge and innovative, now it’s just the same phone every year with 10% more performance and some tricks on the camera. Of course people would start looking for alternatives, and if they have much better hardware and are cheaper then it’s just natural to change.
I have no doubt that Chinese phones are in many ways technically superior to Apple’s offerings. When the NSA gives one of them a green light, I’ll consider it. Industrial espionage is real on both sides of the fence, let alone state sponsored espionage.

We don't think we're going to destroy the US economy nor do we want to.

Because we can't vote to change anything in DC, we have to send a message via other means. For many of us that's voting with our wallets.

I would like things to be the way they were in the past. I used to travel to the US quite often and chose your country for a number of special occasions including my honeymoon, anniversaries and milestone birthdays. There's a long list of American places on my bucket list.

But as long as there's a threat to annex my country, as long as my neighbours are being arrested at the border, I will not set foot in the USA.

I have also adjusted my purchasing to avoid American products where reasonable alternatives exist. I'm not fanatical about it, I still eat California lettuce and have a paid iCloud account, but small changes by many people
I agree and I understand that you think your actions are going to make a difference. They won’t, but I appreciate that you have the courage of your convictions. I’ll still go to Canada regardless.. I don’t know if they’ll let me back in though. Even me, a 60 year old man traveling with my wife in a minivan had a problem crossing the border back into the states a few years ago. Some of these border agents are on a power trip.

Yes because it’s inconceivable that maybe in another country they like to buy products not from a particular company
Common internet debating tactic is taking a talking point and dismissing it with some generalized hyperbole.but you haven’t been able to show some evidence that dismissed my point about why.

Because it wouldn’t matter if huawei made a better device than what apple has on offer in china or samsung offer S25 ultra with 16gb in china but not the west
You would still think it’s a big conspiracy as to why people don’t buy iPhones as much in that region

As to what people on this board think or not, all opinions in this too are fair game and certainly none can be proved or disproved.

However when Samsung are having to release a more powerful S25 ultra model compared with the west then that’s gives you a pretty solid hint that what customers value in that region

Samsung mode of operation it to over spec and underwhelms. They have their fair share of detractors but no I don’t believe there is a correlation .

so Samsung releases s25 ultra in the west with 12gb of ram in the west
But in china it’s 16gb
But yet according to yourself there is no difference that a company would purposely release a higher spec version in china compared with most other regions in the world?

There are often regional differences in hardware for globally managed products. The entire correlation <=> causation thing applies here.

You haven’t been able to dispel that the government has a hand in this.

The deluded leftie types maybe. These are the same types of people who buy cheap clothes from H&M made by some kids in Indonesia for a few cents an hour, or chocolate that comes from cocoa farms using slave labor, but they won’t buy Jack Daniels because of some new astroturfed variant of “orange man bad”.

It’s purely theatrical nonsense designed for the consumption of the middle class so they can virtue signal to each other over the latest moral panic™ and lord it over the working class. The average person doesn’t care about this kind of performative outrage.

The government has had its hand in this for a while. Ever since the NSA announced it found some questionable software/hardware in a Chinese phone years ago its left a bad taste in consumer’s mouths. It’s a bit non-sensical because (1) it was only found in one brand and (2) Apple phones are also assembled in China. If you ask the government, their reply will be along the lines of “we found this once and to err on the side of caution we can’t say it won’t happen again”. The seed of mistrust was planted on that day. They had one credible instance.

Why would a country every want its own products to succeed does that not happen everywhere?

If Samsung are having to sell a 16gb ram version of their flagship device in china
Compared with elsewhere then surely that tells you what is a contributing factor in china

Every country operates differently.

It still doesn’t mean the govt didn’t have a hand in the drop.

So country’s don’t prioritize their own products over imports?
That strange since most countries work like that from the USA to Australia.

Don’t blame the Chinese government because apple are not succeeding as well there
Considering Chinese companies are banned in the USA

The US doesn’t tell people to buy Apple. That’s left for social media and viral interactions.

You just said above the govt has a hand a in this. Which is it?

I’m not Chinese however various different nations prioritize their own products over others like Australia does with food.

Apple are a US company and so is google
So why would the us government tell its citizens to buy apple products over another us company

No I said all countries prioritize products
It’s kind of like Huawei not competing in the USA
