Because surly that would mean harmony OS would be in first place then.
As I said the huawei devices are actually pretty good
And that is why the S25 ultra has 16gb of RAM in china compared with in the west

Pretty good in your point of view. It it depends on the buying publics point of view. Eg teens are a force in the US. And yet there are cheaper and better models (sic). Seems like teens would pick up in them.
We are not taking about teens in US
But in china and why sales are down for Apple.
But harmony OS is made by huawei who are a Chinese company yet they are not in first place in china but android is so how can the Chinese favor their own over a foreign company.
Not my point of view in regards to the S25 ultra 16gb but it’s one of the only places that has been released as that is one of the things that appeal in that market

Harmony os is not hardware.
This while thing about teens is to challenge the notion of “Less capable hardware” besting more capable hardware. It’s not really the case that better hardware wins. China is an exception in the govt okays a role.
No what yourself is doing is because Apple are not doing well in china then your bringing in teens in America buy Apple and it’s not as powerful as other devices ok that’s in the USA

You don’t know why one model is selling more of less in china. You are guessing.
It’s my opinion Apple is being pushed by the govt to the bottom of the pile. How can anyone outside of china understand the motivations.
It’s not about one model it’s the fact that in china samsung deliberately released a
16gb version of the S25 ultra because in china they like devices with big specs that is why

I watched mkbhd's review of the oppo x8 ultra yesterday; and in terms of hardware that thing is dialled to 11 on pretty much every spec and has about all the bells and whistles on it for a price slightly lower than an iphone pro.
The chinese landscape is incredibly competitive; and there's not much in the way of ecosystem lock in. Devices themselves actually need to be good to sell because consumers can just as easily switch to the newer best model.
Apple's strategy is purely ecosystem lock in; they don't seem to be interested in putting the best hardware or features onto their phones anymore; they just need the next pro model to be a little better than the prevous iphone pro model and bank on all their customers being already locked in by thier iwatches, app store purchases, icloud and messages.
They absolutely should release a top end - dialled to 11 phone that shuts up everyone with it's features and performance (and probably a price tag to boot), but instead we get the thinnest iphone ever?

Could be. Or it could also be the government is propping up their own whilst simultaneously subtly targeting Apple.

You don’t just accept that maybe other companies are doing better in that region of the world because that’s what they like
they aren't locked into iMessage, they use wechat, so no reason to buy iphones.
Yup, but how long can that last?
They need to do something at least once in awhile to justify their brand.
Take for example a company like ferrari. A bonafide halo company who has a dominant brand name despite not necessarily having the fastest, most expensive or feature packed cars.
But every few years they release an enzo, fxx or laferrari just to prove that they still got "it"
Exactly, the chinese superapps like wechat run all the same on an iphone as they do an android.
So the phones need to have other merits because it's all too easy to switch from one to another.
Nobody can attribute an absolute cause for decline in sales. But sure let’s speculate away.

One being the only competition Apple actually has in the west is android
The other being they have customer that use the language US when it comes to Apple
