Jailbreak iPhone SMS Bubbles

i find that its much easier if you download afc2dd from cydia, then use your apple usb cable to connect to your cpu/laptop. download iexplorer (windows) or iphone browser (mac) to drag and drop instead.

2. Rename the file to either Balloon_1@2x.png (for sent messages) or Balloon_2@2x.png (for received messages)
3. SSH into your phone (make sure hidden files are visible) and go into /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ChatKit.framework and drag and drop balloon file inside.
4.Respring device and there you go.

I savd the blue one and added it. Why am I getting the black box around it? Hmmm...

Still can't figure this out. If I take the default icon and copy it into paint it shows a black box around it, but it doesn't show in the SMS app... but the blue one does.

Anyone?
 
Help please

I saved the bubbles I want but what does it mean to SSH your phone?? Where do I go from the point of saving them to my desktop?

I have the iPhone 3GS jailbroken iOS5 5.0.1 and I tried this.
All I keep getting are black boxes. What is wrong?

Edit; Nevermind. I fixed it. But I would recommend changing the sizes to 43x32 if you want them to work properly.

Can someone help me step by step. I have downloaded the winter board ssh and color bubbles I want to make the change permanent on my phone for when I text anyone and everyone.
 
When I saved the file it saved it as Balloon_1@2x.PNG when it needed to actually be .png

The simple difference between the lowercase and upper case file extension screwed it up but after changing that it worked perfectly. Well done!
 
I'm sorry but I'm new to all of this. What does SSH mean and how do I get winterboard? Is it an app that I need to download? Also, once I find a color I want, how do I save it on my desktop?

is there a way to put a picture for the sms conversation background WITHOUT winterboard?

Can someone please help me?!?!

I am soo lost I just got the new iPhone 5 and I have no idea how to use it. I have a macbook so I know some things about apple.

All I am trying to do it change the colors on my sms bubbles. I know everywhere it tells me to jailbreak my phone and I want to I just don't know how! Is anyone please willing to take the time to walk me through it step by step from the beginning pleaseeeee I would appreciate it so much thanks!
