Yeah a good stand which does landscape and is sturdy enough to be pushed when on the desk, as well as good cable management, would be really good to see. I concur, I want a Rain look.

Interesting that the Touch iPod comes with a stand. Dang.
The small acryllic one in the ad is all I want. Just something to work on an airplane's tray table. Can probably add some type of sticky-ish feet so it doesn't slide much.

I just googled "iphone stand" and got a number of excellent ideas, including a business card-turned stand, and business card holders available at Office Depot for less than $1. I'll check out the Officemax store today. I also just need the stand while watching video during flights

Would have been much more attractive in brushed aluminum to perfectly match other devices :)apple: monitors, G5 & Mac-Pro desktop cases, etc...) that are sitting on our desks already.

Take a look at these more attractive (coordinating) products:

G-Drive

Laptop Stand

I would set the standard at rains mstand. Great design, only seen it, haven't used it (have a macbook).

Good addition to the list kellen!

Out of the closet

Here is my iPhone stand. Made by hand from a wire hanger from my closet. Crude but effective, also cheap!

i don't know if apple is going to sell it, but it does come with the ipod touch, apparently.

Nope, no stand included with my fiance's Touch. I think they changed the specs at the last minute. [EDIT: I might have missed the stand, as I recall a nondescript piece of plastic. Will check once I get home.]

For $5 or less, you can go to an arts/crafts/hobby store like Michaels and pick up a wooden easel / plate / desktop picture frame holder thing. This would hold the iPhone (or Touch) vertically or horizontally. That's what I'm planning on buying, once I get near Michaels again.

Not only super cool stand, but I the love fact that you took the picture on a paper towel! One word, wow. I think you could sell those.

picture frame easel

I found a great iPhone stand today at Michaels. It is a picture frame easel, which holds the iPhone really nicely, it is adjustable for various viewing angles, and it folds up flat to carry on the road.

Belkin Case provides it all

The Belkin Sleek Acrylic Case for iPhone sold at ATT Wireless stores is a great product. Got it after my rubber iCase stretched out.

Comes with a removable belt clip that doubles as a stand and has a specifically designed hole for the rubber hook that mounts to your dashboard.

Similar to http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=374513.

This is only sold at the ATT Wireless store for $30. For whatever reason.

Good case!

Honestly, I don't think the designers at Belkin expected users to stand it on end just to look at the iPhone's home screen. It works perfectly in landscape mode to watch videos. Plus with the belt clip, car dash attachment, a design that doesn't distract from the screen and the fact that it doesn't break when removing it to clean the iPhone makes it a decent case for me. Not to mention that the belt clip/stand is removable. :D

FYI - the easel is by Tripar International, model 28-1633:

Tripar doesn't sell direct, but if you're trying to find it, at least you know what to look for. I got mine from Seldon McCallister Antiques.

The easel doesn't work if the iPhone/iPod Touch is standing on its narrow end, but is a great fit if it is on its side: perfect for video.

BatRest

Please take a look at the BatRest. I think it is what you need. It folds flat to credit card size to fit in your wallet.

You can buy it as www.seskimo.com.

some great lookig docks im gonna try constructing something from coat hanger wire and some sort of cover idea ill let you guys know when i finish (with pics of course)

This is left over from the era of the 1st and 2nd generation iPods. It still works great though and it has nice rubber grips so things won't wobble around. :)

My iPhone holder with the dock connector. I love Lego :D !. Sorry I don't have photos of my iPhone on there. There's also an image showing the connector.

I seem to remember people using music cassette tape boxes when the iphone first came out. Also DV tape boxes, there were detailed instructions on here if I could be bothered to search. You could mount the phone landscape and portrait and it also held your ear phones - double bubble!!:p
