The small stand in the picture with the iPod Touch came with the 1st gen model. They didn't include a stand with the second gen. It works if you use it for watching a movie, but it has no grip for using the touchscreen or even if you have headphones attached to it (it moves around).

as of now im using a bent coat hanger wire :p but it looks so ugly im gonna tape it and maybe see if i can get some surgical tubing to give it traction and a soft touch to the iphone/ipod

After you get it put together, get a patent on it, then post the pics...:p

right and 10 years later when my patent finaly goes through ill be able to make money on a phone stand for a phone that wont be needed anymore

i will post pictures though :D

We've sure had a bunch of hits on this thread...

and I'm just wondering how many people are actually purchasing the X Stand or something similar or how many are making their own iPhone stand? Maybe each of you can post your results.

here is what mine looks like i am still trying to find Surgical Tubing so that i can make aome rubber stoppers on the back and make it not scratch the iphone.

it sits vertical and horizontal the M look to it stands for Microsoft not mac!!! also had to make it look like that to support vertical viewing

I rather make my own. Why buy something that you can create unless if you need a universal dock with that conference speaker call thing iPhone accessory? I made mine out of Legos.

It looks like it's coming along quite nicely. Are you going to get the surgical tubing on before the forming of the iPhone stand?

i'd like to appl the surgical tube to the entire thing (if possible) but the way those legs are folded at the back i might not be able to. if i cant ill just do the back legs font hoos and then eletrical tape the rest to give it color

im going to get some surgical tubing and electrical tape right now actualy im quite excited :D
