so its the samething? i heard there was a difference
There are different types of OLED panels, absolutely. Some are PenTile, some are W-OLED, and Samsung calls each new generation something new like "Super AMOLED Advanced Plus HD". But again, all OLED panels on the market today are AMOLEDs. Passive matrix panel is possible, but it's far worse. The same reason you don't see non-TFT LCDs any more.

How do you know that?
Wikipedia told me.

Today, virtually all TVs, computer monitors and smartphone screens that use LCD or OLED technology employ active matrix technology.

What a load of *****, it's a well know issue with amoled no matter how many of your mum's, dogs best friends auntie has had a phone that hasn't had burn in. The resale value is next to nothing when it's got images burnt into the screen. Burngate will be very real.
If we go back 5 years, then yeah, it was probably a known issue. Today it isn't.

I don't think LG is willing to sell OLED TV's today if they are known for burn-ins.

Again, faulty screens, because that's not normal. Everyone knows that. Even my dad have an old Galaxy S3 now that he have had for 2 and a half year now. No screen burn-ins on it.

People want to discredit AMOLED so bad they make stuff up because since apple hasn't adopted it yet, in their minds it is an inferior display. That is until Apple slaps one onto iphones and ipads and then it becomes 'brilllant' and 'innovative'

Yup. It was the same with bigger screens on the phones as well. The hardcore iPhone fans saw the bigger screens as stupid until iPhone 6 Plus came with a bigger screen. Then it was suddenly awesome.

I'm just gonna say, let them live in their bubble. One day they will realize how stupid they are with their dumb arguments.

You have to give apple credit though, the way people will just blindly follow the product and line up to buy it is amazing.

I buy the IPhone because the total package is the best, to me. They tend to have less issues and are constantly improving the software. The screens are not the best but there is more to the phone than the screen.

I am still waiting on an iPhone Mini that has the same capabilities as the main line model barring reachability. but not sure when it will come out.

I'm sick of iPhones with dark corners, uneven displays, yellow splotches (NOT warm displays, I like warm, but I mean displays with random yellow splotches), and random dark spots.

If they don't want to either adapt their display technology or at least improve their quality control vastly, it may be time to move on from the iPhone.
Can't people return these broken display iPhone back? Not that ever needed to with the 3GS,5S , ipad 2 or 6 plus that are being used by the family.

Here comes the world class stupid fanboys who think this is the best move for consumers.
AMOLED is just perfect... You can't compare to LCD right now. We're are being forced to use inferior technology because Apple doesn't want to give Samsung more money.

This is the most idiotic statement I've seen on this subject so far. Congratulations you take the cake. I mean how far up Samsung's ass is your head..?

Even if it is better iPhone is mostly not pure black and Android / Google itself designed its UI such that it can't take advantage of it when it first came out on their flagship galaxy nexus.

As much as it is stuck in yours, with your iPhone's processor and many other internals by Samsung. You should rethink yourself as being clever. Go back to your hole.
