Finally got my first email. Any consistency for how long until the second email arrives?

Got the email this afternoon, that my phone will be ready for pick up tomorrow.

You do not have a contract with Apple for a new phone every 12 months. Actually why anybody is stupid enough to buy it with a carrier contract is beyond me. Why be tied to a contract until the entire phone is paid off. That and the iup comes with AppleCare + which provides much better support is a huge bonus.

News flash. You signed up to make payments over a 24 month period. They ALLOW you to upgrade after 50% of the phone is paid off. Actually read the contract. You signed a 24 month contract with the CHOICE to upgrade at 12 payments. My phone installments work identical to IUP except I get to keep everything on one bill instead of having multiple.

I think that you need to understand better how the carrier installments work. I used to work for AT&T. It's no different than IUP.
You aren't on any contract. Just like IUP your only obligation is to pay the phone off. Just like IUP you commit to 12 payments. If you cancel service with your carrier, there is no termination fee.
And why IUP users think that they are in a better position than anyone else on a finance plan is incredibly small minded and uneducated in how it truly works on both sides.
I'm coming from an internal side that worked for both Apple and AT&T.
When you agree to the terms of IUP you agree to finance the phone over a 24 month period. You trade in after making 12 installments. But that's all based on inventory. It's the exact same with both Verizon and AT&T. I signed up for 12 month upgrades. The phone was broken up over 24 installments. I'm not paying anything more than what anyone else is or anything less. If I wanted to add AppleCare, I'd still be paying the same amount. I'd still not be in a contract.
So in my opinion, the only person that looks stupid is the one pointing fingers without understanding the situation entirely.

Agreed. The only reason I chose the IUP is that at the time AT&T next was not quite as good. You had to pay off 60% of the phone to be able to trade in. It is now the same as the IUP at 50%. After all of these issues I now sort of regret signing up, hopefully next year is better.

Lol. I'm glad people do understand this.
I'm just the type that likes to condense as many bills as possible. I am too scatterbrained lol

Im still waiting for my email telling me to pick it up. My 1st email says it wont be available until the 26th. I was hoping to get it this w/e

Got my second email. 3 days after the first one. On a Sunday of all days.

Available today to close tomorrow. I will try to go today but idk if it will happen.

Made it there. The store was interested to see a jet black. Apparently they've only sold 3 of them including mine. Gorgeous, just hope I don't regret downsizing. So far the size and weight are a welcome change from a plus.

I got the plus it's awesome

I'm sure it is. For me the size is a trade off though and the only thing I'd buy it for is the camera, which I don't need as we have a dslr for that.
