Thats sucks mine got put into my wallet in 5minutes……Good luck with that. Here in Arizona we have had Digital ID for months, but I have gone through the signup procedure in the Wallet app on two separate occasions and heard nothing for the Motor Vehicle Department.
I think it's supposed to be a mountain goat.Guess who lives in Colorado!!!
Edit: What is with the icon that they chose? They could have chose mountains, gold, but they chose a cow?

I'm genuinely surprised that there's not even a hint that California is working on allowing this. You'd think the tech capital of the world would be jumping all over this, especially since we just approved the ePlates for cars...
That's the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, the state animal exclusive to the Rockies. It's not some cow. If you look it up, you'll know why it was pickedGuess who lives in Colorado!!!

California is really slow with these things (Real ID for CO was 2013-14 and 2018 for CA), I expect it to take a while...![]()
California Moves to Test New Digital Driver’s Licenses
The state's Department of Motor Vehicles is planning to test a new version called a mobile driver's license or digital ID — an identity-verifying credential that can be stored on your smartphone.www.govtech.com
I just saw this article and had my digital ID approved in minutes.Good luck with that. Here in Arizona we have had Digital ID for months, but I have gone through the signup procedure in the Wallet app on two separate occasions and heard nothing for the Motor Vehicle Department.
Probably never in the US. Just so backwards with digital options like this.Wonder how long this will take to roll out and be supported everywhere?
Your ID in the Wallet app only works via NFC at airports and for traffic stops. That way you don’t have to hand over your phone, just bring it close to an NFC reader (like Pay).Wooohoo finally! delete Colorado app!
It will probably take a while, and I think it is alright. It is always better to introduce these new things in smaller States (population wise). Better to do the trials in small groups before expanding to the whole country. That gives everyone a bit more time to evaluate what works and what doesn't. In the meantime you'll still have a fully functioning driver license in your physical wallet.California is really slow with these things (Real ID for CO was 2013-14 and 2018 for CA), I expect it to take a while...
