It does.Does microLED support turning off pixels?
Here I was getting all excited and then I saw " Digitimes " , it's Ok, it's not happening.
Apple plans to release an iPhone with a microLED display in the future, according to a report today from supply chain publication DigiTimes. This display technology would allow for higher brightness, decreased power consumption, improved contrast ratio, and other benefits compared to current iPhones with OLED displays.

The paywalled report claims the Apple Watch Ultra will be the first Apple device to switch to microLED, followed by the iPhone and iPad:With the Apple Watch Ultra not expected to use microLED until 2025, the first iPhone to adopt the technology is likely still several years away from launching. All four iPhone 15 models coming later this year are expected to stick with OLED displays.
In the meantime, Apple is still completing its transition to OLED displays. The first Apple device with an OLED display was the original Apple Watch, followed by the iPhone X, and the first iPad and Mac models with OLED displays are rumored to launch next year. The transition to microLED will likely follow a similar smaller-to-larger device trajectory.

It does have true blacks, but I don’t know how good the color accuracy is at low brightness levels. What's this microled and does it have true black like oled? I don't want more light shining into my face, i want good color reproduction at lower brightness instead.
Blooming is with mini-LED, not micro-LED. Those are completely unrelated technologies, despite the similar names. If it has the blooming problem like the 12" ipad does, no thanks.
Yes it can turn off individual pixels.Does microLED support turning off pixels? I thought that’s the whole appeal of the dynamic island? I guess that’s when the whole notch and island will go away and it’ll just all live under the screen maybe.
They will get there eventually. Almost all new technologies follow this very path from being invented and too expensive/complex for a mass market to finally being profitable and easy to manufacture. From what I remember, hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent on micro-LED and the results have very low yields. It kind of feels like a bit of a betamax vs vhs technology repeating itself again. Micro-LED is definitely better, but better doesn’t matter if you can’t get product into the market.
Not a new rumor, neither does it really matter if it happens whenever it happens.Apple plans to release an iPhone with a microLED display in the future, according to a report today from supply chain publication DigiTimes. This display technology would allow for higher brightness, decreased power consumption, improved contrast ratio, and other benefits compared to current iPhones with OLED displays.
I can't understand why Apple are messing about with the new gen Oled, which will clearly help Samsung.

All the mini needs is an hour more as far as the battery is concerned & the A17 will give it that.Hahaha I beat you to this thread. And as far as the Mini returning I just can’t get with a phone with bad battery life…..cuz physics.
So do I on TV's when I can control the ambient light, but it lacks brightness and that is a problem on lap tops in particular, the current old lap tops from Samsung are lower leagues compared to the MacBooks Pro's Mini Led'sI like oled

iPhone Mini with MicroLED Display! 🔥
I really don’t get what people don’t understand about this. They discontinued the iPhone mini because practically no one was buying it. They’re not gonna bring it back because the same 350 people on Internet forums keep asking them to.
*Stopped making new versions of it, my bad. You know exactly what I meant. They still sell the mini, so it’s not discontinued is it?
They stopped making the original full-sized HomePod because they weren’t getting enough profit out of it, especially after having to cut the price of it. Once they solved that problem, of course they brought it back. Wouldn’t make any sense to perpetually sell a small-sized HomePod without the regular one along side it.You never know with Apple. Recently, Apple brought back the HomePod after discontinuing it... Also, the Battery Percentage Indicator and the list goes on...

Bottomline: You just never know!
Is there a really great Mini-LED tv out there right now? I would really prefer that for my next tv, I just don’t trust OLED to last several years (in a tv). The longest I’ve kept an OLED-screen iphone is 2.5 years.I actually prefer Mini LED over OLED in my TVs. But the iPhone 14 pro gets really bright so I don’t know If it will make much of a difference.
The only Micro LED tv available costs around $100K. And I’m not even sure it’s really available for purchase.Mini-led <> Micro-led
