Offtop... iPhone naming getting confusing. I am suggesting simplifying:

• Year of release numbering.
• S-M-L for Small-Medium-Large size.

Example:

• iPhone 23LP (Pro)
• iPhone 23L
• iPhone 23M
• iPhone 23S

2 years of iPhone and there's already burn-in at the top right corner of the screen. Not sure I want OLED on my Mac, which I keep way longer than an iPhone.

That said, MicroLED should be good.

Timeline is far too optimistic. I'd add another 3-5 years, minimum.

We just heard from Ross Young this week that iPhone 16 Pro Max is 6.9-inch OLED.

May be it is time to dig out all the Macrumors comments about MicroLED coming to iPhone in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025.....

It is even worst than Apple Modem.

The only Micro LED tv available costs around $100K. And I’m not even sure it’s really available for purchase.

I found that info when I misspelled looking for a mini led tv and searched for a micro led tv instead. 🙂

microLED is the ultimate display technology and it can easily replace OLED with better specs.

Hopefully they do away with the display dimming while warm/gaming/in the sun before then, if not I hope these are the last nail in that coffin

But these are still years out from iPhone ready, so hopefully a vapor chamber or something solves it in the next iPhones...

I actually prefer Mini LED over OLED in my TVs. But the iPhone 14 pro gets really bright so I don’t know If it will make much of a difference.

Not enough blooming to make up for the peak brightness. 800 nits vs 2000. Horrible.
