I think you can buy a Verizon or Sprint phone (or AT&T or T-Mobile phone) unlocked directly from Apple by purchasing full price. I was just unsure if unlocked phones would be available immediately for pre-order. I am scared about pre-ordering a Verizon phone to use of T-Mobile but as sniffies stated, you can bring a Verizon/Sprint phone to T-Mobile (but not the other way). I remember hearing something like this with the 7 plus so I do believe he is correct (plus he has personal experience doing just that). I agree, its probably a better move to buy the Verizon (b/c as he pointed out, the resale value is probably better).

Good to know, thanks sniffies! Let us know your findings with your firend's phone when you can...I want to come up with the best strategy to buy a phone on 10/27...
[doublepost=1506376433][/doublepost]Also, it does let you buy a SIM free version for any carrier for the 8/8+ now in the App but I am not sure if that option was there on pre-order night...anyone know?

Question is, can you buy a Verizon phone outright on the Apple Store App as a T-Mobile customer? Do they ask for account information? In-store, they don't. I've bought Verizon phones outright the last 2 iPhones with no problem.

Yes they ask for account info. T-mobile is the only one that does not need account info to pre-order.

Hello, are you complete sure of this? Also the iPhone X? I Preordered two for me and my wife but I live in Colombia. I Preordered using the TMobile Option since it was not asking for account information and because it used to be the Unlocked option when buying from Apple Store. But now I am having doubts. Is there any special procedure when I receive the iPhones?

Thanks in advance.

All U.S. iPhones are unlocked, carrier or not

Just remember this simple rule:

T-mobile/AT&T iPhone can work on T-mobile/AT&T interchangeably, but can NOT work on Verizon/Sprint

Verizon/Sprint iPhone can work on any

As long as your carrier is GSM-based, your T-Mobile iPhone X should work
