Love the phone but I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with the speakers slightly sounding a little crackling whenever max volume. Noticeable on certain songs and even my ring tone which was bought from the iTunes Store.

I compared it to my 7 plus and that one didn’t have a slight crackle.

Thanks guys

If the Volume is maxed, it may not be entirely clear in sound. But I don't believe its necessarily defective. I guess it would be also how loud the crackling is as well. If you can, compare it to another model if applicable.

Same thing on mine. Sounds like the front facing speaker let has a slight crackle when loud, I hear it when listening to speaking mostly.

You aren’t the only one. I’’ having the same problem. It might need an update just like the iPhone 8 needed.

I don’t have it much with calls but it’s there a bit. I’m probably just doing an exchange at this point. Way too much money to have any defect.
Please kee is updated what Apple says when you go for an exchange. I wonder if they say it’s normal.

I spoke with apple support on chat, and they didn't say anything about it being normal (not that this means it's not). They told me to go to a store. Not sure when ill have the time but i will do so relatively soon. I don't know why, but i'm doubting its a hardware thing.

I just noticed it today while on phone calls using the normal earpiece. At first I thought maybe it was my Saturday morning scruff rubbing on the phone but my wife can hear slight crackling noises as well while on the phone.

Was wondering if I should try the Beta and see if that fixes the issue.

It's not that big of deal but now that I have heard it I am aware of it and it's just kind of bugging especially for the price of the phone.

my Iphone 7 Plus has it too. My guess is that the speaker that they use for the earpiece is not well stabilized so it introduces the rattle at certain frequencies. This seems to be related to them using the earpiece speaker to create stereo sound.

I hope I didn’t want to post this and others think I’m paranoid thank goodness I wasn’t alone I’m give it a few more days.. :/
You’re not paranoid, some people aren’t sensitive to things like that

i didn’t notice that on my 7+ But I instantly heard it on the X. Maybe some are worse than others.

Yup, same issue for me.. anything above 80% vol seems to intermittently crackle.. music, voice podcasts, video and even calls!

Mine does it too, I think it’s normal if the audio isn’t eq-ed well and the speaker volume is maxed out.
