The X doesn't 'disgust' me, I don't tend to have such strong feelings about a lump of metal. Is it ugly? Hell yes. Do I care if you're buying it? Nope. ;)

As the pre-order date approaches, I just may order the ipX.

1) I kinda would like to shut-up all the people who have posted "Good you're not buying the ipX, there will be more for me" posts we've been reading around here.

2) it would take 2 away from a potential big-time scalper. I'm on Verizon and any informed phone customer knows the Verizon phones are the best.

3) I realize that I may be taking 2 away from those purchasing to keep, but as the adage goes, "In each life, some rain must fall...".

I have no interest in the ipX beyond this, and there of course money on the table, for those seeking some.

Some advice to all who fall into #1 - keep your pie-hole shut and don't tick us off further. :D

I'll keep thinking about the pre-order angle as it looms...I think the idea has merit!

Carry on.

Looks like you’re begging ppl to buy X. Playing a reverse psychology game, you don’t want to be alone in buying X, you are scared. If you really meant what you are saying then don’t worry i wont be your competitor. I am on a stage in my life where i have started selling my electronics which i purchased and collected for many years. Maybe my testosterone level is not like before when i used to get excited for every new released iphone. I guess i need to take Horny Goat Weed or Viagra so i get the same effect from apple’s keynote.

Errr thats what you take from this? That I want people to buy it and make it difficult for myself to get one? loool o....k.... That totally makes sense.

Nothing wrong with pocketing some $$$ for my efforts.

If I get a modest $700 extra off selling my two phones...where's the downside?

Literally no human on this planet thinks the iPhone X is better looking than the S8, and that includes you.

Why? Because it is impossible to rationally conclude that
I think it is, this is the NEW Apple flagship phone, I for one also like the fact that it won’t look like an S8.

But that's exactly the type of reaction your post evokes.

I'm setup to buy as MANY as I can possibly get for 11/3 delivery, still haven't decided if I'm going to keep buying if the dates slip fast after our initial purchases. I may still buy some more anyway, as long as it's not too far out (November delivery). If I can get 20 (I have friends/family that will be helping me on the 27th, each of whom has their own VZW account =)), I'll buy them all. As many as we can get!

I have a hunch I'll only end up with half a dozen (hopefully) for launch day scalping, but I can hope for more!

So don't worry, if you don't get one, I'll be willing to sell you one of mine. Sure it'll probably be $3000 or so, but just imagine the absolute horror of not having the best iPhone on launch day!?!? How would you function? It'd be awful.

I'm happy to help!

I still can’t believe Apple went with such a design , I was prepared to pay whatever that cost was going to be without hesitating! It’s all about user experience and that notch is a very distracting visual effect. I waited 3 years with my iPhone 6 for the tenth anniversary phone and I am very disappointed! I would pay $3000 to have that notch removed!

I feel yer pain.

And I am thankful to you op for being a beta tester to this permaturd notch new device and donating over a grand of your money to the cause.
We salute you and hope Apple learns and fixes all the shortcomings of this Frankenstein thing on their next iPhone release.:D

I've accepted that the notch is just a beauty mark on an otherwise pretty phone. Is it the most cutting edge and breathtaking design? Nope. But it is the best looking phone that runs iOS and has an A11 chip, so it is what it is.

Do I wish it was so mindblowing that I was excited as I was prior to the 4 launch? Of course I do. But it won't stop me (or millions of other people) from buying one. Eventually this kind of crap will hurt sales, but Apple has a few more cycles of goodwill before they have to really worry about it.

I'm still excited, but more for the scalping opportunity than for the actual phone lol... I don't see myself being obsessed with it for the first few weeks the way I was with the 4 either. It'll be a nice upgrade, but that's about the end of it.

It IS disappointing for the people that waited years specifically for the "anniversary" edition though. Totally understand that.

Not me, the NOTCH is what sets the X in a league of its own....At the TOP of the food chain

Even Apple knows its ugly, they will remove it as soon as they are able to.

Remember at no point did they actually say the notch looks good. They just couldn't do the design without it.

So let me understand this, Apple needs to praise a physical design or feature they designed to say it "Looks good" so the audience will approve of it? And if the audience doesn't like it, what were you expecting, for Apple to scrap it before they launch the iPhone X? There is nothing wrong if you don't approve of the notch, but don't speak for Apple as if you think they need gratification or approval.

I think Apple is proud of the fact of the technology that's embedded into the notch and how is the future of security for the iPhone.

For all those so disgusted at the price and refuse to get one and tell others of the thousand reasons why they shouldn't get one too.

Thank you, cause now I feel more confident that I will be able to get one on release day when I pre-order with my contracted network for an upgrade.

With so few bezel and an OLED screen sorry but this iPhone is the stuff of dreams.

Some say no Touch ID no buy.... Well I was using iPhones long before Touch ID (My fav being the iPhone 4/4S) and will continue to use em long after Touch ID is gone.

So again thank you.. I hope you stay true to your words and stay away from the launch.

.....Somehow I feel people are lying and the iPhone X gonna be sold out it in seconds

Edit: And personally I prefer the Notch over the top and bottom bezel that the S8 has. But thats me :)
I think the S8 looks better but the notch does house the 3D cameras so it has a purpose.

Sorry pal, I'm not one of those types. I've waited years already for this kind of iPhone so I don't mind waiting whatever delivery estimate i get from my network provider (Upgrade). I'm not buying from Apple directly, that will be a nightmare for many.

People not buying because of the notch? It will be there on next years device...

I truly love how when it comes to the notch each persons opinion is translated to be every persons opinion.

The notch will be there for some time. If sales are good, probably 10 years. Marketing 101. They do not want the from to look like a Galaxy.

This was a design decision. They did not have to do this. They chose to do this. They could have made the housing taller while keeping the screen the same without the ‘ears’ keeping the bezel straight across. They decided on the overall size of the handset, then the screen, then decided to give more screen back in the ‘ears’.

Why does nobody talk about this phone having no bottom bezel? I’m sure this isnt the only one but most have a bottom bezel, right?

Sure you're not. A person posting on a Mac enthusiast site about a pre launch products availability.

You can deny it, and I can never prove it, but almost universally everyone I sell a phone to on launch day says "I can't believe I'm paying "XYZ$" but my (spouse, kid, SELF) HAS to have one today and I either missed out or can't wait until the one I ordered arrived".

No one has ever said "I just decided to skip the pre-order and pay scalper prices because..."

It's a terrible feeling on launch day seeing everyone else open up their shiny new "better than the one you have" phones. Maybe you really aren't the type of person that cares, but generally, the type of person posting about pre-order availability IS.

And thank goodness for those people! If people had patience, I'd have to return the devices, and I'd be losing... well... I wouldn't be losing anything because I get back exactly what I paid, but it'd be annoying =).
