I wouldn't install a beta on a new phone until you know it works. Otherwise you don't know if the problem is the beta or the phone.

It was released today, which is why I'm asking. Also, I saw an article that said speculated as much as far back as Sep 17, so I was curious. Glad for the feedback of people though!

I’m pretty sure the reason why 11.1 was released today is because it’s on the X. The iOS version that will be on a new flagship is always released to the public just before that flagship is released, just like 11.0 came just before the 8/8 Plus.

11.1 was released today and included many iPhone X tweaks & fixes which suggests that it will come pre-installed Apple had the final build long before devepers did

oh gotcha. I don't do beta's after the new major one is released. But i do every beta for each year. just not the .1 or .2
[doublepost=1509481484][/doublepost]oh shoot it has 70 more emojis, well that alone is going to get me to do my 7+...lol

Can anyone confirm that the iPhone X will be arriving at our doors with iOS 11.1 on it? I'm trying to decide if I should upgrade my 7 Plus so that my backup will restore from iOS 11.1. If the versions don't match, sometimes the restore has given me problems. Just curious if anyone could confirm which version of iOS the Xs are shipping with.

You can always update the x before you restore it from backup, so I'd personally update to the latest

I have 11.1 on my 7+. My plan is to upgrade the X since it's released, before I restore backup. If required.

It was released alittle before noon here in Texas (CDT)

Many thanks

The good thing about ios11 is now you just need to hold your old phone next to your new one when you are setting it up and it see's your old one and copy's all your settings to your new one.You will still need to restore your app's and data tho. THis just does settings

How do you wipe?
Generally front to back...
[doublepost=1509483783][/doublepost]Your iPhone X will likely arrive with 11.0.3. That is what all the review units are running. They’ve only had them a day and it’s unlikey that Apple managed somehow to load all these warehouses full of firmware that only came out officially today.

It's unlikely they will be shipping the phones without the ability to goof off with Animojis straight out of the box.

So if it's less than 11.1 I should upgrade the phone first to prevent issues with IOS version mismatch, correct?

That is untrue, the only mismatch that would be a problem is having iOS 10 and moving to a new phone with 11.....iOS11.0 to iOS11.1 shouldn't cause any mismatch or problems..

Not saying there could be a bug or two but you can restore from backup. Then update, no problem

It's been my experience it wouldn't let you restore till you upgraded.

Let say 11.2 is out. But you have to get a replacement phone cause yours stop working or whatever. The replacement comes with 11.1 and you should have no problems restoring your 11.2 backup to your 11.1 replacement before updating...

Ditto - I had this problem with a replacement unit I got from the Apple Store. Had to push the newest OS before I could do the restore. It took forever at the Genius Bar. It’s one of the reasons I asked the question in the first place. Just an annoying process if the backup is on a newer OS.

That's probably cause you went one from one major release to another right, like ios 9 to ios 10? I haven't had any problems with .** releases before....

It wasn’t a full version. It was a fully upgraded 6 Plus to another 6 Plus that I was replacing it with that had a lower version of iOS 9. Anyway, maybe they’ve addressed that issue since 10 and 11.
