Just picked up my new case from Best Buy in preparation of my iPhone X coming Nov 3rd, and although I saw the picture comparisons, now that I'm holding my iPhone X case next to my iPhone 6s Plus, the iPhone X is small and a little disappointing. I guess I’m wanting an iPhone X Plus with a 6.5 or 7’ screen. This is bothering more than the notch!

which case did you pick up?
I got the Speck - Presidio ULTRA Case for Apple iPhone X - Terracotta/asphalt/field
Pretty cool case, you can remove this bumper when not worried about a big drop, but then add this bumper for 15' drop protection. It's like two cases in one. Trying something diffrent this iPhone, I always used to get the OtterBox Defender.

...the screen on the X is basically the same size as your 6s Plus. You didn't lose anything other than useless bezels.

I had the opposite reaction. I don’t want a phone the size of a brick so when I received my Caudade case, I was really excited to see that it was almost identical in size to the 7 I have.

I am sure they will have a large version of this phone next year.

What I really want is a iPad Mini X. A nine inch screen in the form factor of a mini? Shut up and take my money!

I for one am very happy to have the capabilities (like the camera) of the Plus sized phone in a smaller form factor. The Plus hasn’t been bad or unwieldy, but if the camera were in the regular iPhone I would have gotten it. The in-between size of the X is probably my favorite feature.

You're scaring me, man. At least I will try it for awhile and see how it is. Made the order and waiting for its arrival. I need a big phone. At the very least I can return it within 14 days, but I have to invest in cases and screen protection. I would have to waste some money on that.

Yo...I TOTALLY just made a similar thread! They'll likely get merged. My shock came from receiving my tempered glass. I opened the package and was in SUPER shock. I know we get more screen but it's so skinny and small. Sheesh!

I got my tempered glass yesterday. Honestly I like it compared to my Plus being that it’s exactly as I expected based on what I saw online.

I ordered a couple dollar cheap plastic case from china eons ago so I could “hold” the X .. for me it was the only way to really decide if I was ok with the size. Glad I did.

It has been known for months, that the iPhone X is about the size of an iPhone 7. There should be no reason why the OP or any other regular here is shocked or surprised that the new phone is smaller than plus size models.

Uh, thanks condescending guy.

Of course we know it's different. Knowledge of a thing is far different than actual experience. That's true for almost everything in life.

If you knew, why were you shocked? That doesn't make sense. If you weren't truly sure about the size, all you had to do was hold a iPhone 7 in your hand.

I agree that it might take a little getting used to a iPhone 7 size form again if one has been using a plus size form model. That is understandable. But, to be completely shocked about the smaller size when one has been reading the forum and watching videos, that doesn't seem very logical to me.

Why should the experience be anything different in this scenario. You aren't losing any screen real estate. I could only understand this argument if the screen on the X was smaller. It isn't. Any disappointment in the size of the X compared to a Plus model is ridiculous.

i am not sure what to make of this, but i also think that the size wont really be obvious until you see the phone in the case. here is a side by side

It's the same width as the 6/7/8 non-plus version. You'll get the same amount of word wrapping if you view in portrait mode. You wont get tabs in Safari in landscape mode.

For me, I consider the X a definite downgrade size-wise from my 7 plus, but I'll suffer with it until they release a plus version of the X, hopefully in a year.
