keep in mind that the keyboard on the iPhone X will be significant smaller compared to the Plus model (and also bit smaller: iPhone X vs iPhone 8).

So I guess people with big fingers will need some time to adjust to the small keyboard of the iPhone X.

I am still torn between the 8 Plus and X

If in fact the keyboard on the X will be the same or a little bit smaller than the non Plus model then that that's reason enough to forgo the X. I went from the 6 to 6S Plus because of the keyboard. I text to much to ever want to go back to a smaller keyboard.

yeah, that's what I meant; People who will text much during the day, will mostlikely have a hard time with the small keyboard of the X. Especially the people who are used to the (size of the) keyboard of a Plus model, ofcourse.

If it's really small then just type landscape

Keyboard won't be much of a problem, especially if you're already used to SwiftKey or similar swipe-type keyboard.

The problem will be the battery.

I bet more then 80% of iPhone users are not even aware of the fact you can choose a 3rd party keyboard and/or have one installed on their iPhone

Expect the keyboard on the iPhone X to be about the same as the 4.7” iPhone.

If that works for you now, the iPhone X will also work for you.

Link for the best in class? TIA!

Cheers

ben altijd het beste jongetje van de klas geweest! :p

No, I do not have the real life figures on this, but just by looking around at my work and social life...the times I have seen someone with a 3rd party keyboard installed is very low to none.

Haha ik bedoelde natuurlijk de beste app!

Please if anyone can provide a link to the best 3rd party keyboard for an iPhone 6 Plus as an alternative for the standard one in iOS 10, much appreciated!

EDIT: I still feel absolutely NO need to upgrade to iOS 11!

Cheers

No serious MacRumors forum dweller should have expected the, much smaller dimensionally, iPhone X to have a larger keyboard than the iPhone Plus to begin with.

Comparing with the 4.7" iPhone makes sense since they are dimensionally similar.

But why will the iPhone X have the same, or smaller, keyboard than the 4.7" iPhone?

The iPhone X does have marginally wider screen than the 4.7" iPhone so the keyboard should actually be slightly larger, not smaller.

yeah, you're right. The iPhone 8 keyboard will be similar to the one on the X. And iPhone X vs Plus model will be significant smaller.

never had any problems with the 4.7'' keyboard. but then again, i'm using the 4.7'' device because i got small hands ;)

If you are coming from a non-Plus model you'll probally wont notice the difference.
On the other hand, coming from a Plus model or bigger non-Apple phone you will certainly notice the small keyboard on the X

Is the screen on the X really that much smaller than Om the plus models? Can anyone please provide a graphical illustration?

I am a frequent Mac rumors news reader but I always assumed the X screen was the same size basically like my plus but without the bezels?
I don’t get it. 55FAD070-A1B5-46B2-A27B-FF8C3CF22562.jpeg

The iPhone X is quite a bit narrower than the Plus models. As others have said.... it's closer in width to the existing 4.7" iPhone.

In the picture you shared... check out the highlighted difference below:

I'm kinda bummed about this as I've grown fond of the plus-size keyboard.

No it won’t be, the iPhone X width is the same as my 6S with the Apple leather case on, as the screen on it has smaller bezels the keyboard will be at least the same and most likely bigger the the standard model.

what about the photo posted above yours?

See the red boxes in the 8 Plus and X? I really think there's quite some size difference

Here's another picture. I know the perspective might not be perfect... but you get the general idea.

It's looks like the iPhone X keyboard will be quite a bit smaller than the iPhone Plus... while being a little bigger than the 4.7" iPhone.
