once he's sold it he loses any and all rights he had to the device and can't make any demands on what they do with it, however he could possibly be held liable for any incidents since he was the one that modded and sold it.Bids are being accepted until November 11, with estimated delivery by late December. Pillonel said anyone who bids on the iPhone X agrees that they will not restore, update, or erase the device, will not open the device, and will not use it as their daily device. He also cautions that the modded iPhone X is "just a prototype."
Probably because Lightning’s data transfer speeds are embarrassingly glacial. Can Apple just create a Lightning to USB-C adapter so I don’t need to carry two cables whenever I travel? I’m not sure why they had one for micro USB but not USB-C.
Micro-USB is not a benefit to anyone.Pretty sad if they were forced to make the adapter legally rather than for the benefit of their users.
Good comment. I’m sure nobody ever used theirs.Micro-USB is not a benefit to anyone.
I'm guessing he is busy building phone number 2 as we speak!Well deserved! That’s what I’m talking about. He is such a brilliant student. Deserves every single penny.
Watch, Apple will buy the iPhone themselves, LOL!
That was a truncated disclaimer. The full thing is basically saying that if it stops working, or causes any other issues, he won't be held responsible, and won't have to replace or repair it. Basically, use it at all, and there is no warranty. Thus, use it all you like, just don't come back crying for a refund if it breaks.wait, so if you get the device, you’re not allowed to open it, you’re not allowed to use it, and you get a 30 minute Q&A for a device you’re not allowed to open or use?
Wow, sounds like an absolute bargain.
maybe I’ll sell my MacBook Air on eBay, claim it’s the first Apple device with an M2, but the catch is that you can’t open it, you can’t use it, and you get 30 minutes to ask about it.
extremely ridiculous.
The high failure rate is not offset by the number of people impacted.Good comment. I’m sure nobody ever used theirs.
Never going to get that money for this.
I hope that for such bids, Ebay runs some verification. It would be a simple way to wash money. If anyone believes the winning bidder will actually pay up, I have a few brides to sell![]()
If your mom won’t be able to figure out how to charge an iPad Air when given a choice of 2 cables, then an iPad may not be the device for herIt’s the reason I can’t consider an iPad Air for my mom. I know she’ll never Get used to two different cables. If only there were a standard…
It’s not that she can’t figure out how to use two cables. She’ll just be less than thrilled to have an additional cable in multiple places and when traveling — enough to the point where it’ll be a blocker to her actually using it.If your mom won’t be able to figure out how to charge an iPad Air when given a choice of 2 cables, then an iPad may not be the device for her
Are we sure the USB-C spec can handle the physical requirements current lightning users are accustomed to? Firmness of the 'lock' when putting it in. The ability to use the nub to hold the device (clock radio/docks, etc)... I'm not sure this is all just about 'money'.
Below this one is an 'iPhone 1st generation', for $45.00 that looks like a, what, iPhone 7? Someone messed up that listing...
Not sure that's a fair reply though. You can lift a phone by holding the adapter, but none of the products are such that people would naturally do this to my knowledge (clearly too heavy/bulky). In the car, especially, or grabbing a phone from a nightstand both have this as a common use of holding by the adapter. Maybe the hollow usb-c design would bend or otherwise fail.Apparently it's good enough to be used on every other Apple product
At best, it’s a first world problem, having to carry a second charging cable. Plenty of us manage. If it will be a blockeR to her using the iPad, maybe She doesn’t really need one? It’s not that she can’t figure out how to use two cables. But while you’re being condescending, please tell me which non-iPad tablet is better for my iPhone-using mom, who won’t use two cables.
