Upgraded to the Gold XS Max. I love the iPhone X and don't think there's a feasible reason to upgrade to the regular XS. I just really missed the Plus size when I upgraded to the X last year so upgrading to the Max was a no brainer. Also got the 44mm gold SS watch with the Milanese Loop band... Prefer not to dwell on the $2100 I dropped on Apple today

Not me. If I wanted the Max I would upgrade. Beyond that...not worth it IMO.

(And for my part, I've had a + in the past, but don't want to go back to that larger form factor even though the screen size is cool).

It’s a shame they’ve stopped doing the X as I’d like to have got the extra storage option and changed from Space Grey to Silver/White and got extra space as only on 64GB

I get why they’ve done that instead of making it cheaper, but still a shame

I’m also going back & forth, but I think I’ll stick with the X. I was planning on getting the XS, but don’t feel as rushed to get it now.

I still may upgrade, but didn’t feel any pressure or desire to do a launch day order. I know the upgrades are minimal (and I’m always of fan of the dust & water resistance increasing).

I’m planning on going to an Apple store to check out the series 4 watches & and will take a look at the XS then.

So for now, I’d say I’m not upgrading.....that could change in a week or two, LOL.

I gave the XS MAX some thought but after the keynote, there weren’t any standout features that made it feel necessary. I’ll stick with my X for another year. Surely next year will be more than incremental.

iOS 12 and AW4/Watch OS 5 have all of my attention at the moment and there’s more excitement for Monday

No, as much as I love my X 256 and I want that Max 512, I can't justify that for the price. Before anyone says anything about the iPhone being a premium phone and all that, sure I could buy a Bugatti, but if I already have a perfectly good Rolls, why spend more money ? Not to mention that the upgrades are in line with the "S" models but they added a larger screen. Looking at the Note however is something that I might do.

No upgrade for me, I don't see the XS as a worthwhile move from the X as it offers very little to justify the renewed cost on my IUP. I'll pay the remaining 10 payments and then have 2 month's payment free next summer before deciding on upgrading to next years model or not. Also means I'll have my X to sell next year rather than simply handing it to Apple.

I could have written this myself. I was telling my sister how I got an email with an offer from apple to upgrade though my IUP. Honestly I just don't see why. My ipx is still pristine and works beautifully. So why start over with tiny little differences that in the end to me doesn't make a reason to upgrade. Plus I would be starting over and will have this paid off in about 10 months. If I did upgrade I have to turn in this phone since I still owe on it. I am just not into leasing my phones which to me is basically what I would be doing should I switch.

Hey if you guys want the XS but don’t want to pay for it, just put this wallpaper on your X and when iOS 12 releases you’ll be there. :D

I was a Plus phone owner before the X. I find the X far too restrictive in landscape mode. I’m happily upgrading to the Xs Max. I’ve been missing the extra screen real estate all year.

100% with you there which is the only reason I ordered the Max. That being said, if this size phone was released last year I would be happily skipping the XS iteration as the bigger screen was the only draw for me. I just couldn't go another year staring at that small X screen after always having the Plus sized phones previously.

First time I’ll be skipping a new iPhone at launch in 8 years. Although the XS Max is appealing for screen size, it’s not a big enough change for me. I can’t justify spending $1400 on a new phone and another $110 on the next program so I can trade it in because of the late launch of last years X.

Next years phone should offer significant changes that make it worthwhile. Unless they keep increasing the price. Getting too close to the 2k mark for a phone for my comfort.

If you want the size from a larger iPhone then the X you have why not just get 8plus and save a bundle.

My other phone is a Pixel 2 XL, and every time I've been using that and switch back to the iPhone X the screen feels a bit constrained in comparison. I'm very much looking forward to the extra screen real estate.

How are you guys who decided to not pre-order hanging in there today? haha

I was a bit anxious not staying up til midnight like I do once per year for the first time in a decade. I'm holding strong though! Not upgrading this year.

I placated myself by ordering the Series 4 Apple Watch:D. Very excited about that upgrade!

I have the X and just ordered the XS Max. I like the X but find it too narrow for me to text consistently without spelling errors. The width of the Max should be a big improvement. The wider the phone, the better for me.

Yes I’m upgrading. Got a launch day X, previously had a 7 Plus. Definitely miss the size of the Plus. So I’m very excited for my Xs Max

Even though my X's screen is bigger than my 6 plus' screen, I miss the bigger size phone...I had my 6+ for almost 4 years and was used to it. I ordered the Xs Max.

Why would someone downgrade to an 8 series phone from an X? Makes no sense to downgrade to a lcd screen, no Face ID etc. plus you’re still buying another phone and the cost associated with that. I’m off the must upgrade every year train.

You folks do realize you will be carrying a brick in your pocket compared to the X?

Good luck, only went to to Plus iPhone model once. Returned within 14 days, never bothered again.

Obviously that’s very subjective. It took me about a day to get used to the size of my 8 Plus, and now anything smaller, including the X, feels too small.

I think it’s more of a side-grade. Same internals, and many people prefer TouchID over FaceID. Just because something is newer or more expensive doesn’t always mean that it’s an improvement.
