If software is crippling Qualcomm’s capabilities, could a jail broken phone unlock its potential?

Apple is upgrading the phone chassis for 2018 so it supports 4x4 MIMO. Software alone cannot add more antennas.

it will be nice when / if Anantech or some credible source tests these models and gives a more definitive investigation on the performance of the different modems in the X - thx for all the user experience info

Topic has been discussed before. This is what led me to test myself. This is a test I did with both, ended up with the Qualcomm at the end.

Doubt it. They probably flashed it during production to limit it. But no one knows for sure except apple engineers
