Do you find the iPhone X design to be ugly or attractive?

  • Attractive; I like the mostly full screen display, I think it looks chic, and futuristic

  • Ugly; I think the full screen display is ruined by the notch, and the side bezels are still visible

The Poll speaks for itself. There have been a lot of comments on both sides, and I'm just curious as to how everyone feels about it.

I wouldn't say it's downright ugly, but the protruding camera along with the notch...it's not very attractive.

I would say the Pixel is a tad more unattractive if we're on the subject. :)

I wish I hated it because I can't afford/justify the expense. But it's beautiful and obviously how all iPhones will look eventually.

It feels like a compromise between engineering and marketing requirements.

I don't mind the notch, but the bezel is bit thicker than expected.

The bezel width on the iPhone X is 4.56mm which is thicker than the latest Samsung or Xiaomi models. It's comparable to the side bezel on the iPhone 7 Plus (4.66mm).

Yeah the poll questions only allow so many characters, I wanted to include the protruding vertical camera.

I suppose Apple failed the beauty contest this year.

S9 still rates higher in my book in the looks dept. Too bad the phone is too tall for me.

I’ll need to see it in person. But ever since the iPhone 5, each new design has had its fair share of design criticisms. iPhone 5 had the two colors in the back, iPhone 6 had the antenna bands and the protruding camera. iPhone 7 Plus had the huge dual camera.

But eventually they become more accepted.

I think it looks very attractive and I don't mind the notch or the narrow bezels on the side at all. I'm really looking forward to owning and using one and I can't wait.

I really think it needs to be seen and used in person. Hands on photos and videos are the closest we've seen so far, and I think it looks a lot better than in press shots.

Stainless steel frame, nearly all OLED front screen, and new glass back as potential for a very striking look.

Not the best example, but I think this is a pretty killer look:

Its not ugly, but I'm also not falling down drooling over it, like I've done for prior iPhone models.

I think the 4 and possibly to a lesser extent the 5 was probably the last time I drooled over an iPhone. The X comes the closest again.

I think it's very attractive when it's not on and running and we are just looking at the style and workmanship...except the camera bump sticks out like crazy.I don't think that takes away from the looks of it, but I don't look forward to trying to keep it from getting scuffed up.

While off, the notch looks cute and distinctive.

When it's on and running, I have to say I'll reserve final judgement until after I've gotten a chance to use it. "Pretty is as pretty does" and if the notch interferes with my having a positive user experience, of course I'll think it's hideous.

When I originally looked at the phone via Apple's web site, I was not a fan of the design at all. Since then, the device has definitely grown on me as I look at pictures more.
